1. Hagia Sophia Trabzon

With the Black Sea in the background, this beautiful architectural site is also one of the best remnants from the Byzantine era in this region. Earlier a Greek orthodox church, then a mosque, Hagia Sophia (or Ayasofya) is now a museum that can be explored by visitors.

2. Ataturk Pavilion

The beautifully designed mansion allows you a glimpse into the summer house of Kemal Ataturk and also offers splendid views of Trabzon as well as Black Sea. The lovely interiors, antique artefacts and serene gardens make this museum an important attraction.

3. Uzungol Lake

Just an hour and a half away from Trabzon city, the Uzungol lake invites tourists to soak in the natural beauty and picturesque setting of this place. 4. Sumela Monastery

How To Reach

By Air

WIth its own international airport, Trabzon is connected to major Indian cities like New Delhi via connecting flights from many carriers. Though there are no direct flights between India and Trabzon International Airports, there are many one/two stops options offered by a combination of airlines like Indigo, Turkish Airlines and Singapore Airlines. The city is barely 6Kms from the airport and can be easily reached in 10-15 mins by bus or taxi.

Best Time To Visit

The summer season experiences comfortable temperatures and very low rainfall, thus it is the busiest season for Trabzon. Fall and Spring months are also good for planning Trabzon tour packages due to lower crowds and good deals on accommodation and airfare. Winters are harsh and cold with plenty of snowfall that hampers outdoor activities hence it must be avoided.

Summers (June-August)

Winters

The cold weather and numerous snowy days make it the least popular time to visit Trabzon as you would be stuck indoors most of the time. The mountain paths and roads also get slushy and dangerous to travel on.
