Vienna Holidays: Experience musical heritage and imperial grandeur of Austrian capital

Atmospheric cafes, opulent museums, food markets, and unrivaled classical music scene set the perfect stage for Vienna tourism. The capital of Austria has been a gateway between Western and Eastern Europe for centuries.
Once the kernel of Habsburg Empire, modern Vienna is an important cultural hub of Austria. Vienna travel is highlighted by imperious palaces, cosmopolitan charm, and the lingering legacy of wizards such as Mozart and Freud. Before searching for the best Vienna tour packages, let’s take a closer look at the heart of the city in our detailed Vienna travel guide below:

History, culture, and music are the ethos of Vienna holiday packages, both literally and figuratively. The narrow streets of the central 1st District or Innere Stadt (Inner City) are lined with splendid buildings. Divided into four quarters, the Old Town of Vienna is a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2001. Vienna sightseeing tours of the historical center and Christmas markets are the must-do activities during holidays in Vienna.

On a Vienna city tour travelers find out eventually that there's more to Vienna or Wien than classical music and legacy of monarchs. With independent bookstores and bistro culture, Vienna attracts a surprising number of younger tourists to Austria. An amusement park and a world-famous zoo entertain travelers who are young at heart. Vienna is a city that relishes its past, and it has the attractions to prove it. Whether travelers are interested in the history of Habsburg family or a live classical music performance that was composed by Vienna's own Mozart, Vienna is a musical wonderland in Central Europe. From gentle bends of the Danube River to ethereal charm of Inner District, the largest city in Austria puts a spell on travelers.

Book a Vienna tour package with us to explore the best tourist places and things to do in Vienna. The Schönbrunn Palace, with an area of 160 hectares, is renowned for its admirable Rococo-style architecture. Aside from 1441 lavish rooms, the palace complex features the popular Tiergarten Schönbrunn Zoo, the oldest zoo in the world. The baroque-styled Belvedere Palace is home to decorative fountains, sprawling gardens, and Sphinx sculptures. The marble staircase and glowing chandeliers of Vienna State Opera House leave travelers in awe. St. Stephen’s Cathedral or Stephansdom is the most significant religious building in Vienna. The white cathedral, which is 107 meters tall and 40 meters wide, is built using limestone. Other tourist places in Vienna include Third Man Museum, Rathaus, Hofburg Imperial Palace, and Spanish Riding School.

The coin collection of Kunsthistorisches Museum Vienna, the 19th and 20th-century Austrian artworks at the Leopold Museum, and the avant-garde contemporary works at the MUMOK in MuseumsQuartier are worth making a stop while sightseeing in Vienna. Take a cycle tour or a tram tour along the 5-km long Ringstrasse, a grand boulevard which encircles the Inner District. Browse through our listings of value-for-money Vienna tour packages and make holidays in Austria special. Some of the other popular experiences in Vienna include Riesenrad, Schloss Belvedere, and Schloss Schonbrunn to name a few. Riesenrad, popularly known as the Ferris Wheel in Prater was built in the year 1897, stands tall at 65 m and take around 20 minutes to complete one rotation. Schloss Belvedere is one of the finest most exceptional baroque palaces in the world. With our Vienna holiday packages, you will be fascinated by the vibrant culture and past of this magnificent city of Austria.

Anilwarner's 8 days trip to Europe

My wife and I have just returned from a 10 day custom-made tourist trip to Europe and we must commend HubHoliday for perfect planning and flawless execution. The trip included Budapest, Vienna, Salzburg and Prague and all the internal travel was done by rail/bus. Prashant of HubHoliday did a great job of planning the best route, booking our train and connecting bus tickets, getting us excellent hotels and even arranging taxis to meet us at airports or station to take us to the hotels. To meet our tight budget we were booked on Brussels Airways (which we had never heard of) but Prashant assured us it was good -- and it was. Better than Lufthansa or other European carriers. An excellent and almost unknown airline now operating from Mumbai. Sightseeing, hop-on-hop-off buses, Danube river cruise, etc were included. All the hotels were very centrally located and HubHoliday took pains to get us what we wanted -- near the old city centre in each case, AND at an affordable cost. Throughout the trip we could get instantaneous (ok, 2 minutes delay) support from Prashant over WhatsApp despite time zone differences. This allowed us to change schedules, delay taxi pick-ups, etc. And Prashant never let us down. It was a great help to know that advice or problem-solving was available on WhatsApp in case of missed connections or anything. Finally, the integrity of the company is such that they insisted on refunding a few Euros I had spent on a taxi that could not be arranged (for which I was told in advance over WhatsApp that I should make my own arrangement). Thank you, Prashant and HubHoliday -- you delivered more than you promised and you kept to the budget. See you next year. Anil W.

Riya's 8 days trip to Europe

This trip was the best trip of my life yet. It couldn’t have been more beautifully executed. :) HubHolidays did a great job! My mom and I started our trip from Mumbai, went to Prague, Vienna, Lucern and finally to Geneva and everything went perfectly well. Kapil and Prashant made sure we boarded our trains/flights/buses/cabs on time and went out of their way to accommodate two-three spontaneous requests of mine (which was so courteous). HubHolidays is one of the very few travel companies in the Indian market that can customize a holiday for you just the way you like it. We got the most phenomenal stays, scenic train travels, easy and comfortable bus journeys, all at the comfort of just letting HubHolidays know our preferences. Prabhakar supported us well by constantly keeping a tab on the travel agent’s updates. Thanks a lot Kapil and Prashant for helping me execute the most amazing trip to Eastern Europe. I’m surely going come around to you guys super soon to book another hassle-free holiday. Doing the ice-flyer ride at Mt. Titlis. It gives you the most breathtaking view of the snow capped mountains.

Rashmi's 9 days trip to Europe

Me and my husband had just about 1.5 months and a tight budget to plan a trip to Eastern Europe (Vienna, Budapest and Prague). We were in touch with multiple trip planners with TravelTriangle being one of them. In this whole process of finalizing the itinerary, travel dates, accommodation etc. Shubham Sagar from Travel Triangle was a great help. Shubham worked really hard on understanding our requirements and went through several iterations to give us the best possible plan. Truly speaking, we couldn't have created one like this ourselves. We were booked at centrally located 3/4 star hotels and had all the transfers included. We wanted to keep our schedule relatively relaxed, so were given bookings on cruises, day passes which included free public transportation & entry to some of the spots, hop on-hop off city tours which gave us a lot of flexibility and still let us see the best that the city had to offer. Shubham constantly kept checking with us about our travel and stay when we were on the trip and was always available for any help. Prashant was also a great help for helping us with any questions on bookings. Overall, an amazing trip where we could enjoy every bit of the travel free of all the hassles of bookings, planning etc. Would definitely recommend TravelTriangle to others.

The tour was good and well coordinated including staying in hotels, transport and other facilities. The experience of Hop on & Hop off buses both in Vienna and London were good. Vishal Thakur's coordination during our trip was commendable. His help in searching out transport to reach to Crystal world in Innsbruck and his 24 hours availability on phone was really helpful.

EUROPE - Prague, Vienna, Brussels & Paris. I am really happy about the overall experience from this Trip. Uday from Hub Holiday was very polite, supportive and available throughout our Travel when I needed inputs and guidance on the way forward. Though one of my Day trips to Bratislava got cancelled and the reason was not enough people for the Journey; However, the agent confirmed they shall refund the amount and Uday has confirmed he shall make sure to have the amount credited back. Overall I would call it a great Trip and Thanks to Uday for arranging this for me. Thank you

Jan's 7 days trip to Greece

This travel company was great to work with and the trip planner Shubham was very helpful, making suggestions and fitting the activities to the kind of trip we wanted—some structure without being scheduled every minute. The tour guides in Prague, Austria & Vienna, and Budapest were excellent, with a great command of information and history. It was particularly interesting to hear about their experiences before and after the Iron curtain. Our guide in Prague was amazing . Shubham and prashant were great in there services . One suggestion I’d make in Budapest—-it’s really too big to do a walking tour and see much in half a day. It would be better to use a driver for this half day tour to save time. We wound up only seeing Buda due to walking. The hotels provided by shubham were all very nice with great breakfast buffets—appealing to many cultures, especially the hotel in Vienna. All the drivers were prompt and friendly. We loved it and are already planning the next trip from Hubholiday !

Services and response of travel agent was very helpful. But the problem was with cab in both ways. Since the flight got delayed while going we didn’t get the cab... so we only paid for that . And while coming cab didn’t come to pick us from hotel and support team asked to go by our own since we need to reach the airport on time. Till now did not get any refund for this. Among all the hotels Vienna and Salzburg hotels were good but Budapest and Prague hotels were ok. Locations of all the hotels were very good . Since the flight got delayed and we missed the connecting flight and then took the next flight and reached Budapest late, we missed cruise also that day. For this also we paid extra to go into the cruise next day. While travelling from Budapest to Vienna our train got delayed too much and due to which we couldn’t see the palace for which we were already having the ticket . And also we just got the Hop On Hop Off in Vienna only for half an hour due to train delaying.
