The Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles came to be thanks to the William Reed and his son H. Elis Reed. The pair was sent to find a suitable place for the Theatre Arts Alliance, a local orchestra, to perform at. The two found the spot, where the Hollywood Bowl now stands, and decided upon it. After its selection, the work on developing a stage began by the Allied Architects in 1929. The beauty of this structure came from its dazzling dome shape and architecture, which stood erect until 2003. However, in the year 2003, the majestic arches of the Hollywood Bowl were replaced by even better and bigger ones. The original shell for the bowl was built back in 1929 and stood firm until being replaced. The Hollywood Bowl is maintained by and owned by the County of Los Angeles.
