How to reach Har Ki Pauri in Haridwar

Har Ki Pauri is located in Haridwar city in the Indian state of Uttarakhand and is considered to be the precise spot where the holy river Ganga exits the mountains and enters into the plains. There is an imprint of lord Vishnu’s footprint on the stone wall where Har Ki Pauri got its name which translates to footsteps of the Lord.

The area within the Har Ki Pauri Haridwar known as Bhrama kund is a spiritual spot where people from all over the world come to take a dip in the holy river Ganga to wash away all their sins and find happiness. This place is visited by most during the auspicious time of Kumbh Mela which is every twelve years, Ardh Kumbh Mela which is every six years and Punjabi festival of Vaisakhi every year during the month of April to celebrate the crop season.

One can enjoy the spectacular view when the priests chant and sing prayers to the lord every evening. It is not difficult to reach as Har Ki Pauri is located in the center of Haridwar city at the banks of river Ganga. Haridwar to Har Ki Pauri distance is very less and one can easily reach Har Ki Pauri by cycle or auto rickshaw from the Haridwar bus stand. Nearest railway station to reach is Haridwar railway station and distance of Har Ki Pauri from Haridwar railway station is 3km.
