How to Reach Hanoi
As the place is well-connected to various major cities of other countries, including India, it is quite easy to figure out how to get to Hanoi. Housing an international airport of its own, Noi Bai International Airport, there are several flight services operating on regular basis from Indian cities, like: Mumbai, Delhi, Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Goa, etc.
One can choose from several airlines, including Korean Airlines, Thai Airlines, Qatar Airways, Emirates, and others to cover the India to Hanoi distance of around 3005 kms in the time span of less than 8 hours. Besides airways, a little more adventurous souls can also opt for roadways to travel from India to Hanoi, which is quite time consuming.
Hanoi Visa Application Information
In order to reach Hanoi, visitors from India are required to obtain an e-visa while paying a requisite fee through an online application procedure. Upon arrival, visa can be stamped at the airport to allow an excursion to Hanoi.
Here is our guide to figure out how to reach Hanoi from India.
Credit to its international airport, Noi Bai International Airport, there are plethora of frequent flights to help one reach Hanoi in the shortest possible time. As Hanoi is well-connected to major Indian cities like Mumbai, Kolkata, Bangalore and Delhi, the distance between Hanoi and India can be covered in 7 hours 45 minutes while boarding a Delhi to Hanoi flight operated by Thai Airlines. Besides this, one can also board flights from Mumbai to Hanoi or Bangalore to Hanoi as well. For a hassle-free tour, it is always advised to buy flight tickets in advance not only to get availability but discounts as well.
Reaching from any Indian city like Bangalore, Mumbai or Delhi to Vietnam by road is a time-consuming process which takes a lot of effort and arrangements as well. First of all, one needs to have all the visa documents and others papers ready, because there are multiple international borders to cross. However, the roadway exists and can be travelled if one really wants to. The first step is to reach the north-eastern state Manipur, from where the India-Myanmar-Thailand Friendship Road will move to the Yangon-Mandalay Expressway. This Expressway leads to Hanoi. From Kolkata to Hanoi, this journey takes 86 hours approximately and more than 100 hours from all other metro cities. Though an exciting one, this mode of transport is not the best policy.
By Car/ Taxi/Bus:
Upon arrival at the airport, one can choose to hire a taxi, bus, or car at reasonable rates, and roam around the city of Hanoi for a joyful experience.
|By Air||By Road||By Train||By Sea|
|New Delhi to Hanoi||8.0 hours||-||-||-|
|Mumbai to Hanoi||9.0 hours||-||-||-|
|Bangalore to Hanoi||7.0 hours||-||-||-|

Trip to CambodiaEnjoyed an awesome vacation in Cambodia and Vietnam which was seamlessly coordinated by Travel Triangle and flawlessly executed by the local travel agent - SViet tours and travels. Good choice of hotels and perfect communication though the trip. I didn't have to worry about anything, be it pick up from airport ( I had 3 international flights and 2 domestic flights in Vietnam),pick up for daily tour, tour guides and my food ( as scheduled).Thumbs up to Travel Triangle and kudos to SViet Tours and travels. Special thanks to Karan Dewan and Hannah Vu. Angkor wat, Bayon temple and Ta Prohm Tam Coc day trip Cruise in Halong Bay Mekong Delta tour
Trip to VietnamHad a good trip overall but had some issues: 1) Our flight booking done by Traveltriangle for BOM BKK sector, seats blocked were right infront of washroom and so was not total reclining and full of disturbances. For BKK BOM sector flight seats blocked all the way at the back thereby taking us time to board and deboard. If we had not blocked seats we may have for better seats. We had not asked for Hindu meals on flight but was served on all sectors baring BOM BKK sector as we had asked them to cancel. The flight from Hanoi to Siem Rep was late by more than 2 hours and we spend half day at airport. That flight ( Vietjet) has a reputation of being late and we repented being booked on it as whole day was wasted and we ended up reaching hotel by 11 pm. 2) Hotel experience was fairly good. At Hanoi the room allocated with triple bed was small and lacking proper seating arrangement. Overall staff very curious and breakfast okay although lacking variety for Veg and non pork beef eaters. Hotel at Siem Rep (Ankor Holiday Hotel) was not at all as expected. Although supposedly four star it lacked proper attitude of staff and general hygiene and cockroaches running all around room and washroom. On first day air conditioning not working on one room and staff refused to give us another room. Had to settle with a fan.in room instead. They were not accommodating at all. 3) Guides in both countries were knowledgeable and understanding. They took good care of us and our food. 4) We got email / call on last day regarding our insurance option for trip. If they had contacted us earlier we would not have to run around. We got all documents just before we left for airport which was very rushed. 5) Our advisor Karan took lot of time to sort out payment issues with overseas travel agent and we had to continuously follow up to make sure our trip would not get cancelled inspite of making payments on time. Our time in Hanoi which included the overnight Boat trip was definitely the best.moments. Siem Rep was a disappointment due to rushed up itenarary.
Trip to VietnamGaling ay tour was really worth but the second one to Bai Dinh was not that good,did not in use much activity we just spent whole day in boating, overall ok
