    How To Reach Digha

    The nearest airport from Digha is Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport (CCU) of Kolkata, about 185 km away. The Kolkata Airport is one of the biggest ones in India and the primary one serving regions in eastern and northeastern India. Daily flights between Kolkata and Chennai, New Delhi, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Bangalore, and Mumbai can be found. It also connects internationally to many countries. Once you reach Kolkata, you can take a state-run bus, book a cab, or take a taxi outside the airport and head to Digha. The distance is easily covered in 4-5 hours.

    Digha Railway Station is one of the newest and smallest railway stations in West Bengal. It is on the Tamluk–Digha branch line. Only 15 weekly trains run from Digha. 11 trains start from, and four terminate at Digha Railway Station. The railway network connects Digha to Howrah, Visakhapatnam, Malda, Puri, and Asansol. Most people arrive at Howrah first and take the train to Digha. The Howrah-to-Digha trains are the most frequent. You can also reach Kharagpur by train and then pivot to a road journey to Digha.

    Digha is connected by road to nearby cities and towns like Howrah, Kolkata, Contai, Kharagpur, and Midnapur. National Highway 116B passes through Contai and Digha. Most tourists take a bus from Kolkata because the journey to Digha is short (4-5 hours). The roads aren’t the best, but the journey can be tolerable for shorter durations. Travelling in the mornings is advised to avoid traffic on the highway.

      By Air: The nearest railway station to Digha is the Kolkata Airport. Daily flights run between Delhi and Kolkata. To save money on tickets, you can book a round trip. You can cover the rest of the distance by bus on NH116B or take a train from Howrah station to Digha.

      By Train: Take a train from Delhi to Howrah (or Delhi to Kolkata if you also wish to include Kolkata in your travel itinerary) and then change trains at Howrah to board one of the trains that run between Howrah and Digha.

      Kolkata is about 180 km away from Digha. Most people prefer to take a road journey on the NH116B. Buses move through the Kolkata - Howrah - Bagnan - Kolaghat - Nanadakumar - Contai - Digha route and reach under 4.5 hours. You can also take a cab to Howrah Railway Station and travel by train to Digha, which takes about 3.5 hours.

      Many trains run between Digha and Howrah. Digha Superfast Express, Tamrolipta Express, Kandari Express, SRC Digha Special, and Howrah Jn Digha Special run daily between the two towns. You can reach Digha within 3 hours 20 mins.

      There aren’t any direct trains between Digha and Kolkata. There are, however, many trains running between Digha and Howrah, which is located about 17 km outside Kolkata on the national highway NH12. Take a local bus or a taxi and reach Howrah Railway Station. Take a train and reach Digha in under 3 hours.
