About Kalimpong Attractions
Kalimpong is one of the most beautiful hill stations which is an East Indian hill town in the Himalayan foothills of West Bengal. Kalimpong rests on a ridge above the Teesta River. Indian army's Mountain division can also be seen in the corner of the city. Many institutions that are in British period are famous institutes in Kalimpong. Its weather is mild and pleasant. History of Kalimpong
Kalimpong, which was in the 18th century known as the Dalingkot it was at that time ruled by the Sikkimese and Bhutanese kingdoms. Then the territory was won by the Bhutan king by the Sikkimese and then east India company took over Kalimpong from Bhutanese. The weather of this place made it one of the most favorable places. Slowly it became important trading outposts, fur, wool, and food grains were the main items exchanged between India and Tibet.
