Luxury:

There are options for exclusive boutique stays and private villas that can go beyond INR 50,000 per night, especially in areas that are in high demand, like Siem Reap and Phnom Penh.

How to Reach? 

By Air: To go to Cambodia, you can fly from India to Phnom Penh or Siem Reap. There are direct flights from various Indian cities, including New Delhi, Mumbai, and Kolkata. There are connecting flights in places like Bangkok or Singapore to explore Cambodia Tourism. Flights will cost approximately INR 15,000 – 30,000 one-way, depending on the season and availability. 

By Road: If you want to go by road, first reach Thailand or Vietnam by bus or car, and then cross into Cambodia. 

Getting Around:

In Cambodia, you can take tuk-tuks for small rides, which cost about INR 150 – 600.

There are buses to travel to cities, it's cheap, about INR 300 – 1000.

You can hire a private car as per your comfort, which will cost around INR 2,000 – 5,000 each day.

Renting motorbikes is also a good choice, which can cost about INR 500 – 1,500 per day.

Culture and Lifestyle: 

Language:

In Cambodia, the official language is Khmer. Many people also speak English, especially in touristy areas. Some people speak French, mostly older generations, but it's less common.

Cuisine:

Cambodian food is tasty and consists of a lot of rice, noodles, and fish. A famous dish is Amok, a curry made with fish or chicken. Another favourite is Bai Sach Chrouk, which is rice with grilled pork. Popular spots are Cuisine Wat Damnak and The Sugar Plum restaurant.  Food in Cambodia can be spicy, but it is also very flavorful, making it a foodie's heaven for travellers. 

Attire:

In Cambodia, people typically wear casual clothing in their daily lives. When visiting temples, it is essential to dress modestly – one should make sure that their clothes cover their shoulders and knees. Many Cambodians wear traditional garments on festivals, like the Krama, a scarf worn around the neck.

Things to Do : 

Hot Air Balloon Ride – if you are an adventure seeker, then floating above the Angkor temples to enjoy panoramic views of the ancient ruins and surrounding jungles should be something that you should plan for. It is a super serene experience, but weather conditions may impact the schedule. 

Floating Market in Tonle Sap Lake –Hop onto the boats and head out to explore the local markets of Cambodia and grab fresh fish or fruit. It’s pretty cool, but it gets packed and can get a little hot, but it's an activity that you must explore. 

Ziplining in Phnom Penh – Zip through the Cambodian jungles with amazing views. It’s such a rush, and is mainly for all the adrenaline chasers out there. 

Mekong River Cruise – Cruise along the Mekong River and see villages and forests from the tranquil, crystal blue waters of Cambodia. It's super chill for people who enjoy slow travel and simply relax.

What to Shop

Cambodia is best known for its silk products, which are high in quality, traditional krama scarves, and wooden carvings. You should not leave without buying the beautiful silver and gemstone jewellery from local markets. If you are a foodie, you can buy Kampot pepper, Betel nut Boxes, and special local coffees. 

Where to Buy

There are high-end malls and bustling local markets to explore. Key shopping places - Phnom Penh Central Market (Psar Thmei), Angkor Night Market, Siem Reap, Kandal Market, Phnom Penh, and Russian Market (Psar Toul Tom Poung) to find quirky and cool souvenirs.

What to Pack – 

Breathable and lightweight fabrics, such as linen and cotton, are ideal for Cambodia's tropical weather.

A light-weight scarf or a traditional Sarong that can be used to cover oneself while visiting temples.

Carrying a universal travel adapter in Cambodia is essential. The country mainly uses Type A, C, and G plug outlets. 

Ensure you carry your prescribed or general medications.

Carry a passport, travel insurance details, a visa, and any other essential documents.

It is advisable to carry an anti-theft bag for safety purposes.

Carry a hat, sunscreen, and sunglasses to protect yourself from the heat.

Visa and Immigration 

While visiting Cambodia, it is essential to acquire a visa. There are two ways to apply for a Cambodian visa: online or upon arrival at major destinations. If you are flying, you must have an e-arrival card, which is advisable to complete within seven days of your arrival. All travellers must be registered with the FPCS (Foreigner Present in Cambodia System)

Although the official currency is the Cambodian Riel, US dollars are widely accepted throughout the country. 

Be aware of ATM fees when withdrawing money, and it is advisable to have both cash and a card available at all times.

By Air

By Train

By Road
