Traveling for me, is a way of life. That is how I meet new people, enjoy new experience, explore a new corner of the world, make friends on the go, and try to stay and feel alive. Traveling gives me a certain kind of freedom to live my life to the fullest on each trip, and that is what I experienced on my fun-filled weekend trip to Kasol with friends.
While traveling is what I love, photography is something I enjoy naturally and is my one and only passion. These are the two things that keep me going amidst the hectic work culture of Gurgaon. Having said that, the hustle and bustle of Gurgaon needs no introduction, for Indians at least. This is why I make sure that I take regular breaks from work, and escape to some place new.
Why Kasol Is Not An Ideal Weekend Getaway

And while I was still pondering over the thoughts of taking a break, one of my colleagues told me about the weekend trips with TravelTriangle. Earlier I and my four other friends wanted to go to Kashmir, but due to time and budget constraints, we decided to explore the chilled out Kasol this time.
For when I’m not doing any work, one can spot me hanging out with my camera always, and in all ways. Since I’m a blessed with photography skills (at least that’s what I believe), and Kasol with natural beauty in abundance, a weekend trip to Kasol with friends felt as if this short escape was trying to raise a photographer’s soul back to life.

About Our Trip
Nature’s photography is not only the most favorite thing which is always on my mind, but it is the only way I capture some of the best moments in life. I love photography so much, that despite the time constraints on this short weekend trip to Kasol with friends, I managed to take as many shots as possible of everything around me.
A First-Timer’s Guide To Kasol: Things To Explore, Eat And Experience In 2022
We were a group of about 100 people on this trip which makes miscommunication and lack of coordination, pretty obvious. Though we tried to follow the itinerary, and did cover a major part of it, we did miss out on few attractions which was quite a big miss.
Thrills Of The First Day
Tired from all the journey, the first day was a bit chilled out in Kasol. We had breakfast at Mandi, and reached the place a bit late in the morning.
The booked hotel was that of Hotel Blue Diamond wherein we checked-in and rested for a while. Later on the first day, we went out for local sightseeing.

The weather turned out to be the ultimate charmer, and we enjoyed walking past numerous cafes and colorful houses of Chalal village that depicted the ancient traditions. It was a different culture altogether.

Undoubtedly, the highlight of the trip was the absolutely stunning Kheerganga trek on the second day. Stretching upto a distance of about 12 kilometers through rough terrains, and different landscapes, it took us almost five to six hours to complete the trek.

There were minor glitches on the trek as few people took the shortcut, and encountered a surprise. Some of the trekkers also got stuck due to a landslide which is very common in the hilly areas like that of Himachal Pradesh.

Nonetheless, every bit of the trek was thrilling to the core which kept pushing us to test our limits. We finally reached Kheerganga by 5 pm in the evening of the second day, and there came a sense of relief.

As much as we were exhausted, the trek had equally left us speechless with such mesmeric views around. And just like a cherry on top, camping under a starlit sky was like a dream come true.
Going Back With Memories Abound
On the third day, we started our downward trek early in the morning. We relished all the scenic views once again as we bid goodbye to the mighty mountains of Kasol. Later in the day we went out for local sightseeing near the Parvati river.

With all our muscles and every part of the body stretching because of the trek, it kind of worked out for us that we got some time to relax by the river, and chill amidst the hills for some more time.
As the evening approached, it was already time for us leave. We checked-out of the hotel, boarded the bus, and bid adieu to an adventurous and an exciting weekend trip to Kasol with friends, and endless memories.

Tips For Future Travelers
- Please don’t go in monsoon season, it will be quite risky for you
- Take someone who’s trekked to such places before, and can advise and help you throughout the journey
- Plan to visit Manikaran Sahib on the day of arrival or else it will be a big miss
Overall Experience
From the refreshing greens of nature, to the awe-inspiring clouds that kept us company, from the ancient and rustic villages to the most humble and down to earth people, Kasol and Kheerganga trek was every bit of a heaven for us.
