We had a good trip. The trip planning was more or less good. We did a lot deliberation and talking regarding the itenary and fixed on one. I think we would have preferred some more information regarding the location and it's limitation. Especially for a place loke kashmir. Like We were not able to visit some places due to security reasons which could have been highlighted earlier. Also there was random checking at some places, which we could have known earlier. As due to a confusion at a checking center we lost one of our bags. A bit more information regarding hotels regarding reviews etc., as although our hotel at gulmarg was pretty good, the one in srinagar was not upto par. Gulmarg only.

Travel agent asked for tip, never ever had been asked for tip by an agent and when we denied after completing our trip ,agent said giving tip is not an big issue.Hotel Manager at hotel Grand Hill View begged for tip while he did not even lift our hankies ,no greetings,no welcome , nothing but while we were leaving he came to my husband asking for tip and when given 100 Rs ,he asked for more money saying give us more .As if our money is tree grown not earned. Pony ride charges were not mentioned in the itinerary at least must have been mentioned lum sum cost per person,so itinerary was not good. Coming back to hotel Rozan jay our room was good But at dinner, food was getting served as if you are having free food. New Manager walking in suit kept eyes on you while you fill your plate. And this behaviour was very unwelcoming , like seriously if you want your guest to have food as per your liking and serving capacity then do not even serve food. Also Menü varied to normal to good only when larger group checked in into the hotel, this is not right way. At least do not make your longer staying guests feel as nothing and less respectable just because they are not coming in with 5 6 persons. Gulmarg was great .

The Travel Agent who discussed all trip details at planning stage was changed to someone else right before trip date and I was not informed of this. Agent just informed us of pahalgam taxi union where we will have to pay additionally. But we had to pay in Sonmarg and Gulmarg as well. We had no support from our driver in any negotiations with local taxi/pony in pahalgam, sonmarg. He provided some support in Gulmarg while negotiating. A good driver can make or break your trip. Our appointed driver from his side did not suggest any good stops on any route. He was just driving and stopping at restaurants/spots where he has build relationships to get commission if we purchase anything. We had two Airport drops on last day which I had shared in the plan before travel. But he charged Rs. 1000 extra for making two visits to airport. On last day our flight was in the evening so I requested him to take us to Shalimar Bagh which was missed which he denied. So whole day we spend at hotel. He lacked any genuine empathy and sense of hospitality.

Overall rating is good. Hotel: Staff: Very Good. Negatves: No room service. No bed coffee, they provide breakfast by 8 am only. Should provide food according to the requirement of the tourist. House boat: Food is not that good. Demands tip. Cab and driver: Good. But the driver doesn't know the city routes well. Doesn't follow traffic rules. Sonamarg and Gulmarg trips and the Shikara ride

In 2021, I had the pleasure of traveling to Kashmir with Peacock Holidays, and it was an unforgettable experience. From the breathtaking landscapes to the well-planned itinerary, everything was perfectly organized. The accommodations were comfortable, and the staff went out of their way to ensure we had a wonderful time. Their local knowledge and attention to detail made the trip smooth and stress-free. Whether it was the scenic beauty of Gulmarg or the serenity of Dal Lake, every moment was magical. I highly recommend Peacock Holidays for anyone planning a trip to Kashmir!

Well our experience with Jolly Holidays was good. As always its time to read good and bad things about our experience: Good experience: 1. We only booked cab and only 1 night stay at hotel with Jolly holidays at 20k for 5D6N We covered Pahalgam, Sonamarg, Gulmarg 2. Uneeba , our travel consultant was empathetic and helped throughout our vacation at Srinagar 3. Cab Driver, Aashik was helpful and always on time for pickups and drops 4. We were taken for site seen on time by our driver and always helped us throughout our vacation Bad experience: 1. You have to keep a time check on your itinerary and when you visit all places and do-not trust anyone, i feel itinerary planning should be arranged by travel agents. For us we felt that we missed many places such as Aru and Betab Valley; zeropoint at Sonamarg; Gardens at Srinagar and many more 4. We felt cheated many times in our travel period due to union cabs, pony’s and others so if you are reading this review please be careful and do-not trust anyone, yes anyone. One example : this is at pahalgam pony ride, we gave 5500/- for two ponys till baisaran valley however we met two couples at baisaran they hired pony for 2k for two ponys and other 1500/- for two pony. We went blank when we heard about it. Another example of thug happened when we visited a shop in recommendation of our travel partner there we purchased a semi-pashmina shawl at 3200/- and after that we went dal lake and visited another shop by our own and we saw same shawl, exact same shawl for only 1500/- without bargaining so please be careful when you visit Srinagar Summary: it was good experience with jolly holidays however they need to learn with travellers experience and provider better services. I will definitely rebook my vacation through jolly. Thank you!! Sonamarg

Ilias's 6 days trip to Kashmir

The trip was supposed to be enjoyable but it did not happen in same way as expected. It is not totally fault of travel agent. 1) Actually , at the time of discussion with travel agent, we were never told that cable car (gondola ride) tickets in Gulmarg is not available most of the time. we planned trip finalized and paid 25% to agent and discovered that (gondola ride) tickets is not available. If we were informed of this fact, then could have planned better. But luckily , we saw availability of these tickets in one day, but we had hotel checkout from Pahalgam that day , which is very far from Gulmarg. So, Agent charged extra to cover Gulmarg gondola ride. So, it is better to buy the ticket first and then plan with the travel agent. 2) Gulmarg gondola ride is a long long queue. Long waiting spoils the enjoyment/excitement of Gulmarg. If you are young ,then OK 3) Agent is never calling you , once the full amount is paid.I think Agent should should ask if everything is OK 4) Dal lake is not the same.If you are planning to relax , the price is 6-7 thousand now.The agent promises to pay 1st 1 hour free but all that is very shady.still the Dal lake comes to be 6-7 thousand (without going to island in between lake) 5.At every point , scams are there. No advise from Agent regarding these scams. Believe me , it is CITY OF SCAMS. It is NOT the SAME Kashmir now. Tourist /Local Crowd is also everywhere. This City of Always in Traffic jams. The two security check of baggage with a gap of 1.5 km is also harassment while returning( when you are tired). Return flight is cancelled and our airline (spice jet) asked us to collect baggage and leave airport (it is defence airport, you can not stay there inside in night). Our Airline (Spicejet) did not pay hotel stay ( because of flight cancellation). So, all these spoiled our stay in kashmir. We will NEVER go there. 5 star Hotels in south asian countries are much cheaper then 3 star hotel of Kashmir.Ticket to these south asian countries is also of similar range. So more value for money in traveling to south asian countries .
