Best Way to Reach Jaisalmer
By Flight
Jaisalmer does not have an airport of its own and the nearest airport is Jodhpur airport. The airport is located 300kms away from Jaisalmer. There are many flights which operate to Jodhpur airport from all the metropolitan cities of India. You can take a prepaid cab or a taxi to reach Jaisalmer from Jodhpur airport. The nearest international airport from Jaisalmer is New Delhi airport. Jodhpur airport remains busy as it receives a lot of tourists for the neighbouring destinations. The time taken to travel between Jaisalmer and Jodhpur airport could be 5 to 6 hours. Therefore, the cab fare could be expensive.
By Train
There are both broad gauge and metre gauge railway tracks in Jaisalmer. The train station at Jaisalmer is well connected with the railway stations of different parts of the country. You may go for a train journey to Jaisalmer with affordable prices. There are train services directly coming from Delhi, Jaipur and Jodhpur. Many other trains also pass by the Jaisalmer train station and it tends to get large amount of tourists visiting the destination. There is a luxury train known as Palace on Wheels which can be utilised to reach Jaisalmer. If you travel by train to Jaisalmer, you will come across a lot of scenic views. By Road

Jaisalmer is connected by bus from many places of Rajasthan such as Jodhpur, Jaipur, Bikaner, Barmer, Mount Abu, etc. There is no direct bus from New Delhi but you may take a bus till Jaipur and change the bus to reach Jaisalmer.
