Patwon Ki Haveli In Jaisalmer

Patwon ki Haveli is the largest haveli of Jaisalmer. The most interesting thing about Patwon ki Haveli is that it is the first haveli of Jaisalmer. Also, it is a complex of 5 havelis. Patwon ki Haveli is named after a rich businessman, Guman Chand Patwa, who built this haveli. Interestingly, it took nearly 50 years to complete the construction of this haveli. As of now, Patwon ki haveli is occupied by the government and offices of Archeological Survey of India and State art and craft department are situated inside the haveli. However, Patwon ki haveli is home to some of the best paintings and intricate mirror works. One of the exquisite feature of the Patwon ki Haveli is the unique architectural design of its gateways and arches. A perfect blend of Hindu and Islamic style of architecture can be clearly seen in the Patwon ki haveli. There is a turban gallery in Patwon ki haveli which showcases turbans used by people of different castes and regions, displaying their tradition and lifestyle. Also, there is a gallery which showcases the different musical instruments used by the folk people.

We booked a 6 days and 5 nights trip to Rajasthan from MY OWN JOURNEY Except on day 1 , Hotels provided are good enough room size are big However for rest of the days there was no confirmation from travel agent which hotel to stay. Note: we booked the package almost 3 months prior to trip. Still on

travel day there was no assurance where we will be staying. TRAVEL AGENT SHOULD HAVE PROVIDE CONFIRMATION IN ADVANCE Otherwise hotel stay was good. Vehicle / driver - vehicle we hot is clean and in very good condition. However I felt the driver little bit arrogant In one instance, he refused to dropped us at restaurants for dinner and we have few seniors citizens with us moreover the restaurant was hardly within 1km range So that thing I didn't like. Overall the trip went well Thanks My Own Journey team.

We had some spare time and spend the 3rd day at Pol Haveli (arranged by Hemant Singhji) at a roof top restaurant which was another great add on to the trip. Looking forward for more such trips in future. Stay at Jaigarh palace, Hospitality at Heritage Juma camp, Heavenly breeze at Vyas chatri, Journey from Jaisalmer to Sand dunes (thanks to Man Singhji), Kuldhara village a must visit place.
