Christ Church

The oldest church in town, Christ Church was built in 1853 in a neo-Gothic style, with buttressed stone walls and stained-glass windows that still catch the afternoon light. It stands near the junction of Upper Mall, a two-minute detour from the promenade. Even if churches are not your thing, the little garden around it is one of the quietest corners in central Kasauli.

Baptist Church

A short walk on, the Baptist Church dates to 1923 and was built by the British in a mix of Gothic and Indian styles. A fire gutted it in 2008 and the interior was rebuilt, so the shell is period and the inside is newer. It photographs beautifully against the pines, and locals still hold services here.

Central Research Institute

About 3 km out, the Central Research Institute is a working government vaccine institute founded in 1905 by Sir David Semple, famous historically for anti-rabies research. Sunset Point

Dagshai
