Local Transport in Mandi

To commute within Choti Kashi (Bali) you can always hire a rickshaw, or ride on your own private vehicle or even consider taking the buses. Holidaymakers are also seen traversing in Taxis and Ubers, mostly all the tourist book taxis for their whole trip and explore the place without any hassles. However, those who do not wish to do the prior bookings then auto rickshaws are always available 24/7 to take you to places nearby. Most of the auto-rickshaw drivers will consider negotiations in fares so do not hesitate in bargaining for the fare because the tourists are always an easy target.

Distances : Manali 110 km., Delhi 460 km., Dalhousie 360 km., Dharamshala 125 km., Pathankot 215 km., Chandigarh 210 km. and Shimla ( via Bilaspur ) 150 km.

Mandi does not maintain any personal airport. The closest airfield to Mandi is the Bhuntar airport which is situated in Kullu. This airport is considered to be a challenging airport for airmen to land safely their planes as the only runway is situated in a valley which is environed by the peaks. Bhuntar airport is connected to Chandigarh and Delhi so passengers traveling from these two places can easily visit Mandi. Once you reach Bhuntar Airport, you can book yourself a cab, uber or any taxi and head towards Mandi. Other transports like buses and auto-rickshaws are used by many tourists to get in and out of Mandi from the Bhuntar Airport.

If you don’t prefer taking the road route then the train is the next best alternative for you. However, Mandi has no railway station of its own and the nearest railway house is situated in Joginder Nagar which is nearly 55 km away from Mandi. Currently, there are two trains that take a halt at this station. Further planning is being done to extend the Kangra Valley Railway to Mandi and finally correlate it with a new Bilaspur-Mandi-Leh railway track.

Mandi by road is one of the most suitable options when a question like how to reach Mandi comes in mind. The roads of major cities like Delhi, Punjab, and Haryana are all well connected to the city of Mandi. Regular HRTC buses are majorly observed on the connecting roads of Mandi and Delhi. If you adore natural hues and enchanting dusks then it is suggested you must consider going to Mandi by road. Chandigarh to Mandi distance is approximately 5 hours and Shimla to Mandi distance too isn’t much, many holidaymakers prefer taking the road route to reach Mandi as the journey between is beautiful and considered safe.

I opted EasyGo Vacation for HP trip of 12 Days, And I was right in choosing Aman joshi from easygo vacation. He has been very helpful right from the first day i interacted with him. He was willing to change the itinerary and make adjustments just the way I liked it to be. The selection of places and the hotels with good view under a budget is what Aman good at. He is also good at explaining his thoughts. Our trip included Cab and transfers along with Hotels. And Driver - Goutam Sarkar was really nice person. He used to suggest time to leave the hotel each day before went to hotel at night and be ready 10 mins before we come down. he used to call us 30 mins before to make sure we get ready too. Hotel staff in all the locations were more than willing to help and accommodate our request. A pleasant family experience.! The rating can nothing be short of Extremely likely, because of Aman and Goutam. They were really nice persons to have interacted with. But there is small scope of improvement which I have brought to notice of Aman and hope he improves upon them for future tourists!
