How to Reach Mandi

Mandi does not maintain any personal airport. The closest airfield to Mandi is the Bhuntar airport which is situated in Kullu. This airport is considered to be a challenging airport for airmen to land safely their planes as the only runway is situated in a valley which is environed by the peaks. Bhuntar airport is connected to Chandigarh and Delhi so passengers traveling from these two places can easily visit Mandi. Once you reach Bhuntar Airport, you can book yourself a cab, uber or any taxi and head towards Mandi. Other transports like buses and auto-rickshaws are used by many tourists to get in and out of Mandi from the Bhuntar Airport.

However, Mandi has no railway station of its own and the nearest railway house is situated in Joginder Nagar which is nearly 55 km away from Mandi. Currently, there are two trains that take a halt at this station. Further planning is being done to extend the Kangra Valley Railway to Mandi and finally correlate it with a new Bilaspur-Mandi-Leh railway track.
