Kanchendzonga National Park: Kanchendzonga National Park is spread across 1784 sq. km and is listed in UNESCO Heritage Site list in North East India. How to Reach Gangtok

Gangtok can be reached from nearest train station in New Jalpaiguri in West Bengal. The city is accessible through air also from most major cities of India. Buses take more time than taxis but are comparatively cheaper. The roads are well maintained with breathtaking views all around except in monsoon season when landslide disrupts the communication system. Tourists can reach Gangtok in 1 hour from the nearest PYG Airport.
By Rail: Located 120 kilometres away from the city, New Jalpaiguri is the main railway station serving Gangtok. A number of trains run between major cities and this station. Many cities are connected to this station including Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru and Kochi. From here various cabs and buses are available to reach Gangtok.

I have had a very good experience while on a Sikkim trip with Sierra vacations. I have booked through travel triangle and Sierra vacations were my local agent Rishi. I have never had to call the agent in this trip for any major issues. Rishi updated details of the next day trip and contact details o

f the driver and cab as early as possible . Each day new cab new driver was assigned which is not an ideal situation as the drivers were all trying to finish the trip as soon as possible and get on to the next job they can get. Without a dedicated driver and cab for the trip the experience is a little off as guests are always forced to complete sight seeing asap. There is no bonding to be formed. But Rishi from Sierra Vacations has coordinated with me well to get the cab assignment sorted each day. Everything went as planned at the end of the trip. But Deepesh ,the cab driver who took us to lachung is very good , honest and skilled person of all the drivers we got in the total trip who managed to balance safety, time , food , real time experiences which we can go through in the trip
