About Mountain Biking in Gangtok

Gangtok the capital city which is located at a height of 5800 feet offers great fun in mountain biking. If the traveler books any tour operators for this event then he gets an introduction by the team leader who even help the traveler to be acquainted with the bike that he is going to take for the ride. They allow the traveler to take a ride and understand how biking is in Gangtok and the cultural practices of the city.

The mountain biking is usually started from Gangtok to Hanuman tok loop. This is an amazing ride that takes the traveler through the whole place to the top and then back. Mountain biking to the pilgrimage town Rumtek is another exciting trip that anyone can plan during the Mountain Biking Gangtok.

Temi Tea garden can be reached from Rumtek. The trail is really long and arduous but the experience is exciting for a biker to take the risk and ride along the risky terrains that is there in the route. Tashiding is another must visit place that a traveler can plan during the mountain biking. From the tea gardens, the trail leads to the small villages downhill and then again the traveler should take uphill to reach Tashiding. Tashiding monastery is the most important spot to visit in this location.

Yuksom is another exciting place which can be found to be really exciting that is very easily visited during a mountain biking trip. The village has mountainous environs for anyone to enjoy. When the ride starts from Yuksom to Tsokha, the route mesmerizes the traveler with the bamboo forests with waterfalls, the peaks, ridges and valleys. There are prayer flags found at Tsokha. The ride can continue from Tsokha to Dzongri, which is the route that has so many shrines and monasteries which are tucked away in the forests around Kanchenjunga peak. Kallimpong and Pelling are other popular places that can be visited during any mountain biking trip.

The mountain biking becomes challenging and exciting on the terrain of Gangtok which is comparatively rough and is along the eastern Himalayas, making it a route that mountain biking enthusiasts are eager to take.

Nikhil helped organize a 7 N / 8 D trip to Darjeeling and Sikkim.. Was really well planned. The hotels were comfortable and food arrangements extremely good. Driver who took us along was an excellent guide. Good part was we were able to tweak the itinerary to couple of more areas whilst at Gangtok. Overall a really good experience.
