Head to this hidden attraction, & escape the rush of Bali
Rated 3.50/5 ( based on 10 reviews )
Entry Ticket For Tegenungan Waterfall, Bali
All Adult
INR 73
All Child
INR 49
The Tegenungan Waterfall entrance fee in 2026 is IDR 30,000 (about Rs 157) per adult and IDR 15,000 (about Rs 79) per child aged 5 to 9, paid in cash at the main Kemenuh gate. The falls are open every day from 6:30 am to 6:30 pm. The Blangsinga side across the river sells its own ticket, so seeing both banks means paying twice.
Prices are the most recent figures reported by visitors and local guides in 2026. Confirm at the gate.
That is the whole answer for most visitors. The rest of this page covers the small extras that add up (parking, toilets, lockers, the swing operators), why you will find three different prices online, and how the fee compares with the other waterfalls around Ubud. For the full sightseeing guide, start with our Tegenungan Waterfall overview.

Tegenungan Waterfall Ticket Price 2026
There is no single national price list for Tegenungan. The waterfall sits on the Petanu River between two villages, and each village runs its own gate. The Kemenuh entrance on the west bank is the one almost every driver uses. It has the big car park, the café terraces and the stairway down to the pool.
| Ticket | Price (IDR) | Approx. Rs | What it gets you |
|---|---|---|---|
| Adult, Kemenuh side | 30,000 | Rs 157 | Stairs to the pool, the riverbank and the swimming area when it is open |
| Child (5 to 9 years), Kemenuh side | 15,000 | Rs 79 | Same access as the adult ticket |
| Child under 5 | Free | Free | Carried or walking with a paying adult |
| Adult, Blangsinga side | About 30,000 | About Rs 157 | East-bank viewpoints and the top of the falls |
Rupee figures use 1 IDR = Rs 0.005248 (mid-market rate, 1 November 2026), rounded to the nearest rupee.
Tickets are sold per person and per visit. Lose the stub and step out to the car park, and the counter may ask you to pay again, so keep it in a pocket until you leave.
Extra Costs: Parking, Toilets, Changing Rooms and Lockers
The gate fee is not the only rupiah you will hand over. Small charges are collected by attendants or by the families who run the facilities on the stairway, and they rarely appear on rival price lists.
| Extra | Price (IDR) | Approx. Rs | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Scooter parking | 2,000 to 5,000 | Rs 10 to Rs 26 | Paid to the attendant on arrival |
| Car parking | 5,000 to 10,000 | Rs 26 to Rs 52 | Some drivers' rates already cover it |
| Toilet and changing room | About 5,000 (one combined fee) | About Rs 26 | Near the top car park and by the pool. Worth it if you plan to swim |
| Locker | 10,000 to 15,000 | Rs 52 to Rs 79 | Leave phones and wallets before you get in the water |
| Swing or nest photo spot | From about 50,000 per spot | From about Rs 262 | Each operator charges separately |
| Photoshoot or pre-wedding permit | About 300,000 | About Rs 1,574 | For professional crews with tripods and lighting |
A family of two adults and one child arriving by car spends about IDR 75,000 (Rs 394) at the gate. Add parking, one locker and a couple of toilet visits and the realistic total is about IDR 105,000 (Rs 551), before any food or drinks.
Kemenuh or Blangsinga: Which Entrance, and Do You Pay Twice?
Yes, you pay twice if you cross. The two banks are managed by different village bodies, Kemenuh in Sukawati district and Blangsinga in Blahbatuh, and neither honours the other's ticket.
| Feature | Kemenuh (west bank) | Blangsinga (east bank) |
|---|---|---|
| What you see | The classic front view of the 15 m curtain fall, the pool and the riverbank | The view from above, the top of the falls and quieter photo decks |
| Facilities | Main car park, cafés, warungs, toilets, changing rooms, lockers | Smaller car park, fewer cafés |
| Swimming | Yes, in the marked area when open | Steps lead down to the river from this side too, with fewer facilities at the bottom |
| Ticket | IDR 30,000 adult, 15,000 child | Separate ticket, about IDR 30,000 |
If you have one visit and want the pool, the cafés and the easiest facilities, go in through Kemenuh. The Blangsinga side also has steps down to the river, but fewer services along the way. Most travellers never need the second ticket. Photographers who want the drop from above sometimes pay for both, and the two gates are about 10 minutes apart by car.
What the Ticket Includes, and What Costs Extra
Your Kemenuh ticket covers the stairway, the riverbank, the pool and the viewing decks along the way. It does not cover anything run by a private operator on the rim or the slope, which is where first-time visitors get surprised.
Included in the gate fee
• About 170 to 200 concrete steps down to the pool
• The riverbank and the rocks in front of the falls
• The marked swimming area, when staff have it open
• The free viewing points along the stairway
Paid separately
• Swings, bird nests and "Bali love" frames on the slope, each run by a different family
• Food and drinks at the cafés and warungs on the stairway
• Day clubs on the rim such as Omma Day Club and D'Tukad River Club, which have their own entry or minimum spend
• The Bali Glass Bridge, a private attraction opened in November 2022, at about IDR 250,000 (Rs 1,312) per adult
Cash, Cards and Buying Tickets Online
Tegenungan has no official online ticket. You pay in rupiah cash at the barrier, and card machines are rare on the stairway too. Carry IDR 10,000 and 20,000 notes, because the parking boy and the toilet attendant will not have change for a 100,000.
The "Tegenungan tickets" you see on Klook, GetYourGuide or Tiqets for about USD 25 to 60 are guided tours. They bundle a car, a driver and usually two or three other Ubud stops. The gate fee is a small slice of that price and is sometimes not included at all, so read the inclusions before booking one.
Opening Hours and When to Go to Beat the Crowds
The waterfall is open daily from 6:30 am to 6:30 pm and closes for Nyepi, the Balinese Day of Silence in March or early April. Full detail sits on our Tegenungan Waterfall timings page.
Tour buses roll in from about 10 am and the pool stays busy until 3 pm. Arrive before 8 am and you share the riverbank with a handful of photographers and the morning light lands straight on the curtain of water. The dry months from April to October give clearer water. From November to March the river turns brown after a night of rain and the pool often closes.
Swimming, Stairs and Safety Rules
You can swim at Tegenungan, but only in the marked pool and only when the staff on the riverbank say the current is calm. They close the water quickly after heavy rain upstream, and they mean it. The Petanu rises fast.
• Do not swim under the falling water or jump from the rocks. The force and hidden boulders cause most injuries here.
• Keep children within arm's reach in the water. There is no lifeguard tower.
• The steps are wet concrete. Wear sandals with grip, not flip-flops.
• The climb back up takes about 15 minutes and is the hardest part of the visit. Older parents can rest at the cafés halfway.
• The stairway is not suitable for wheelchairs or strollers. The top viewing deck by the car park is step-free.
Tegenungan is about 11 km south of central Ubud, a 25 to 40 minute drive, and roughly an hour from Kuta or Seminyak. Getting there by Grab or Gojek is easy. Getting back is not, because local drivers often stop app cars picking up at the car park. Keep your driver waiting or agree a return fare before you go down the steps. Routes and taxi tips are on our how to reach Tegenungan Waterfall page.
Why Websites Show 15,000, 20,000 or 30,000
Search for the Tegenungan entry fee and you will find three different numbers. All three were true at some point. The fee was IDR 15,000 for years, then 20,000, and adult tickets moved to 30,000 more recently. Many guides were never updated, which is why older pages, including earlier versions of this one, still show the lower figures.
The two-entrance setup adds to the confusion. Some writers paid at Blangsinga, some at Kemenuh, and a few added both together. A handful quote the price local Indonesian visitors pay, which can be lower.
Entry Fees at Nearby Waterfalls
Tegenungan is the closest big waterfall to Ubud and the easiest walk, but it is not the cheapest or the quietest. If you are building a waterfall morning, this is what the gates near Ubud charge.
| Waterfall | Adult entry (IDR) | Approx. Rs | Drive from Ubud | Walk down |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Tegenungan | 30,000 | Rs 157 | 25 to 40 min | 170 to 200 steps, easy |
| Kanto Lampo | 20,000 to 25,000 | Rs 105 to Rs 131 | About 20 min | Short, steep steps |
| Tibumana | 20,000 to 30,000 | Rs 105 to Rs 157 | About 25 min | About 10 min on a forest path |
| Goa Rang Reng | 20,000 to 30,000 | Rs 105 to Rs 157 | About 20 min | Short, then a wade through the stream |
| Tukad Cepung | 30,000 | Rs 157 | About 45 min | Steep steps, then a scramble through a canyon |
Village counters change prices without much notice, so treat the ranges as a budget, not a promise. For more ideas around Ubud, see our places to visit in Bali guide.
Harga Tiket Masuk Air Terjun Tegenungan 2026
Harga tiket masuk Air Terjun Tegenungan sisi Kemenuh adalah Rp30.000 untuk dewasa dan Rp15.000 untuk anak usia 5 sampai 9 tahun. Sisi Blangsinga menjual tiket sendiri. Parkir motor sekitar Rp2.000 sampai Rp5.000, parkir mobil sekitar Rp5.000 sampai Rp10.000. Buka setiap hari pukul 06.30 sampai 18.30 WITA, tutup saat Nyepi. Pembayaran tunai di loket.
Is Tegenungan Waterfall Worth the Entrance Fee?
For a first trip to Ubud, yes. At Rs 157 it costs less than a coffee in Seminyak, the walk works for families and parents in their sixties, and you are back in the car within 90 minutes. Skip it at midday in the wet season, when the water runs brown and the pool is shut. On those days Tibumana is the better spend.
Most Indian travellers fit it into one Ubud sightseeing day with the Tegallalang rice terraces, Tirta Empul and the Ubud Monkey Forest. If you want a driver, hotel and that loop arranged for you, our Ubud tour packages and wider Bali tour packages can include Tegenungan with the gate fees built into the quote. Hungry after the climb? Bali Travel FAQs
What is the Tegenungan Waterfall entrance fee in 2026?
IDR 30,000 (about Rs 157) per adult and IDR 15,000 (about Rs 79) per child aged 5 to 9 at the main Kemenuh entrance. Children under 5 usually walk in free. You pay in rupiah cash at the gate, and the ticket covers the stairway, the riverbank and the swimming area. Parking, toilets and lockers are small extra charges paid on the spot.
How much is the Tegenungan Waterfall ticket in Indian rupees?
About Rs 157 per adult and Rs 79 per child at the 1 November 2026 exchange rate. A family of two adults and one child pays about Rs 394 in entry fees, or about Rs 551 once car parking, a locker and toilets are added. You cannot pay in rupees at the gate, so change money or use an ATM in Ubud before you set off.
Is Tegenungan Waterfall free to visit?
No. Both the Kemenuh and Blangsinga entrances charge a gate fee, and there is no free path to the pool. The only free view is the distant one from some cafés on the Blangsinga rim, and those expect you to order. Plan for the ticket plus about IDR 20,000 to 30,000 in small extras per group.
Do I pay twice to see both sides of Tegenungan Waterfall?
Yes. Kemenuh on the west bank and Blangsinga on the east bank are run by two different villages, and neither accepts the other's ticket. Kemenuh is the side with the pool, the cafés and the stairway. Blangsinga gives the view from above. Most visitors only need the Kemenuh ticket.
Can I buy Tegenungan Waterfall tickets online?
No official online ticket exists. You buy it in cash at the counter on arrival, and there is rarely a queue before 9 am. Listings on Klook, GetYourGuide or Tiqets at about USD 25 to 60 are guided tours with a car and other stops, and some exclude the gate fee. Check the inclusions before you pay for one.
Are cards accepted at Tegenungan Waterfall?
Rarely. The ticket counter, parking attendants, toilets and most warungs take rupiah cash only. Carry IDR 10,000 and 20,000 notes so you are not stuck waiting for change. Do not count on an ATM at the site. Draw cash in Ubud before you leave.
What are the Tegenungan Waterfall opening hours?
Daily from 6:30 am to 6:30 pm, including weekends and public holidays, with one exception. The site closes for Nyepi, the Balinese Day of Silence in March or early April, when all of Bali shuts down. Arrive before 8 am for the quietest pool and the best light on the falls.
Can you swim at Tegenungan Waterfall?
Yes, in the marked pool when staff on the riverbank confirm the current is calm. They close the water after heavy rain upstream, which happens often between November and March. Never swim under the falling water or jump from the rocks. Bring swimwear, and pay for a locker and changing room near the pool.
How many steps are there at Tegenungan Waterfall?
About 170 to 200 concrete steps from the Kemenuh gate to the pool. The walk down takes around 10 minutes and the climb back about 15, with café terraces to rest on halfway. The steps are uneven and wet near the bottom, so the route does not suit wheelchairs or strollers.
Is the Bali Glass Bridge included in the Tegenungan ticket?
No. The Bali Glass Bridge, which opened in November 2022 near the waterfall, is a private attraction with its own entry of about IDR 250,000 (Rs 1,312) per adult and about half that for children. The same applies to the swings, nests and day clubs on the rim. Your Tegenungan ticket covers the waterfall area only.
