Roads and railways connect the capital city well with major cities in India, such as Delhi, Hyderabad, and Chennai. One can reach Trivandrum via Kochi or Alleppy. The distance from Kochi to Trivandrum is 200.5 km, which takes approximately 6-7 hours. However, if you want to visit from Alleppey, it takes approximately 4-5 hours to cover the 160 km distance from Trivandrum to Alleppey. By Air
Trivandrum has international and domestic terminals. The nearest airport to Trivandrum is the Trivandrum International Airport, which is well-connected with the major cities of India and other countries. Travelling from Kochi takes around 50 minutes to cover a 190 km distance from Kochi to Trivandrum. You can reach Trivandrum by public transport, Volvos, or deluxe buses from major cities like Cochin, Bangalore, Madurai, Coimbatore, and Chennai. If you travel from cities like Kochi and Alleppy, the 200 km journey can take up to 5-6 hours. However, the distance from Trivandrum to Alleppey is 149 km, and it takes around 3-4 hours to reach Trivandrum by road.
