About Tso Moriri in Ladakh

Tso Moriri is also known as Lake Moriri which is located in Ladakh in Northern India.

This is a protected area under Tso Moriri wetland conservation Reserve. This is known to be the largest high altitude lake all over Ladakh. This lake is formed when snow from mountains nearby melt. The only time you can have access to this lake is during summers.

Pay your regards at Korzok Monastery

This is a beautiful Tibetian monastery that is located on the Tso Moriri lake. This monastery has been here for 400 years and makes it a piece of attraction for sure. It is visited with a large number of Buddhist pilgrims all throughout the year. It is actually situated in an ancient village and is pretty well-maintained.

Bird watching and Camping

The most interesting park of Tso Moriri in Ladakh is that it is home to so many bird species and also acts as a breeding place for them. There are about 14 water bird species so you can probably take a look all over. Going birthday in such a magnificent place at a height is sort of a dream place.

Go for a Wildlife excursion

It would be pretty exciting to find unusual animal species inhabitants of the place here. The Tso Moriri area is filled with wildlife and you can spot Ladakhi Bharal which is commonly known as blue sheep. Some of the rare animal species include snow leopard, lynx and some grey wolves. The popular Himalayan mountain goats can also be found here.

Yes, there are plenty of such occasions celebrated in the Korzok Monastery. Many Changpa nomads have a glorious time during this festival. This ceremony basically is to celebrate good over evil. You'll find leading dancers. During this time the Tso moriri lake becomes super lovely.

We booked Leh Ladakh trip from travel triangle and Leh Ladakh journey is the agency. Overall trip was wonderful. Every place mentioned in iternary was covered. Our driver Joldan was friendly, he was on time for anything. He suggested many view points which are less crowded and beautiful. I strongly recommend him for any Ladakh trip as he knows every corner of Ladakh. Hotels : Leh - Hotel Ladakh place — we highly recommend this place to stay in Leh. Food is good and hospitality, rooms are excellent. Hunder - Dowa resort — stay is ok ok and food is average Pangong - High lake retreat pangong - This is most beautiful stay in the trip. Amazing view of pangong lake . Food and hospitality is excellent in such remote place. Highly recommend this for pangong stay Hanle - The Hor hotel — this stay is not good and food is very bad. This is only bad thing in overall trip. Never stay in Hanle more than a day nothing much to see. Observatory is not much useful. We can cover umlingla and return to Leh in a day. We did same it saves a day We had an amazing trip Thanks to travel triangle and Leh Ladakh journey for providing amazing experience with reasonable budget. Pangong lake and the stay in pangong lake
