Khardung La in Ladakh
Khardung La Pass, pronounced as ‘Khardzong La’ is also known as the ‘Pass of Lower Castle’. It is a mountain pass in Ladakh in the Indian state of Jammu & Kashmir. This road is 39.7 km from Leh, located at an altitude of 5,359 meters. The work for construction was started in 1976 and opened for public in 1988. Khardung La Pass Ladakh is located on a caravan road from Leh to Kashgar in the mountain area. It acts as an entry point to the Nubra and Shyok valleys in Ladakh which is an important pass into the Siachen glacier. It is the most popular and frequently used pass in India. In olden days, mainly traders travelled through this road who used many horses and camels which navigated in a single line one after another to carry goods to Kashgar. This pass plays a significant role in transport for both India and China. Today, this road is vital for Indian Army since it is used to carry important materials to Siachen Glacier. This is a two way road and the nearest town to this pass is Leh which is routed to Manali and Srinagar.
This pass is said to be the highest motorable pass though there are many controversial debates going on for this claim. Mountain biking is very famous in this pass. The path of the road goes through the mountain peak and lets us admire the stunning beauty of the Leh town and mighty mountains around the valley. Some adventure seekers ride to the top of the Khardung La and make the return trip in bicycle to feel the excitement and admire the attractive views.
The road to Khardung La Pass is usually jammed because of the small landslides and road repairs. Due to this issue, it takes 3 hours to travel on this windy road. The complete maintenance of this road to the pass is done by the Indian Army. Indian Army post, a temple and an army canteen are available on the way to Khardung La Pass. North Pullu is a small place selling tea and snacks near Khardungla Pass. Thick clumps of snow are usually found between the road of Khardungla Pass and North Pullu. Travel to this exciting place and enjoy the natural beauty of the surroundings.

Trip to LadakhWe booked our trip with Shoes on Loose via Travel Triangle (TT) in 2017, and the only reason I am writing this review a tad late is to make this agency understand that you cannot take customers for granted. I had contacted this agency for some other trip recently and with no change in attitude, I thought I should write about my experience. We visited Leh/Ladakh with Shoes on Loose, and our hotel bookings in Ladakh were completely jumbled up. We reached the hotel only to know that the hotel was overbooked and we didn't have a room. Imagine yourself to be left on a barren street in Ladakh. All thanks to lord almighty that there are still good people left on this earth and the hotelier out of courtesy got us another hotel. We wanted to contact the agency to solve this fiasco, but our numbers were out of range. Again the agency was very well aware of the fact that Vodafone doesn't work in Leh/Ladakh are and therefore they should have mentioned about this to us in advance. At least a small note in their itinerary would have helped. The car and the driver provided by them was good but the hotels, food, and service otherwise were very average!

Trip to Ladakhits a pleasant trip throughout. The view of Pangong lake was phenomenal...I can never ever forget this
Trip to LadakhTravel Date 11th-15th November HOTEL • Comfortable stay in Hotel Singhi Palace and Blue Stone in Leh. Located close to market. • Basic accommodation in Hotel Real Siachen in Nubra. No luxury facilities but comfortable stay with a helpful caretaker. • Hotel Highland in Pangong was basically a wooden cottage accommodation which should not have been recommended by the agent in this season where temperature fell upto -15 degree Celsius at night. The water in the buckets froze and the toilet was also not functional in the morning. We had to wait till the caretakers heated the water and flushed the toilets. Though the caretakers were extremely helpful but it was not a pleasant stay in extreme weather conditions. CAB Polite and professional driver. Very careful while driving unlike other drivers we witnessed on the road. TRAVEL AGENT Proactive during the booking process and was patient in answering queries. However, there were last minute hotel changes in Nubra and Pangong which were problematic as one is not left with much choice. The traveller should be warned about the extreme conditions so that an informed decision can be made.
Trip to North EastWe visited Arunachal and Meghalaya arranged by Mr.Furkhan. I must say one of the best travel operator I have come through. After one of the bad experience when visiting Ladakh I was very hesitant to go with an agent . But Furkhan's word made me to trust him and I made the right choice . Trip was well planned and everything was according to the itenarary. Hotels were really good. The cab was fairly new with a very experienced driver. Special kudos to Furkhan again for responding anytime you call him. I shall recommend this travel operator anyday to anyone. Thanks again.

Trip to LadakhFirst of all, process was smooth for choosing travel agents from travel triangle, where we received quotations for our trip. Few agents didn't respond but few were active to call back and understand our preferences. So, travel triangle is a good platform to choose from agents. I would be surely refer travel triangle those who would ask for easy process of choosing between agents or planning for TRIP. Sareer travels, our agent also shown agility while we were not given rooms as booked earlier & arranged a better hotel after some glitches. But, overall they took care of our trip very well. Thanks to you too.
