How to reach camping spots in Ladakh

Camping is the best way to enjoy nature and the outdoors. Though we are away from the comfort of our home, camping is one such experience which will make us forget our own house. Getting up in the early morning without even looking at the alarm in the middle of beautiful trees, huge mountains, tranquil lakes, pleasant breeze and the dazzling sky is an out of the world experience. There are many camping sites and Chadar tents in Ladakh which offer an eternal experience. Below are some of the most visited camping spots in Ladakh.

Travelling to Leh can be done by air, train or road depending upon your comfort and budget. From there, either you can take a taxi or a bus to reach your destination in Ladakh. Manali Leh Highway is more popular for camping in Ladakh. It is around 476 KMs long. Tandi, Jispa, Keylong, Sarchu, Pang are the popular camping spots on this route. Srinagar Leh Highway is another famous camping route which is around 434 KMs long. The camping spots in Srinagar Leh route are available at Drass, Kargil, Shargol, Tingmosgang and Sham Valley.

A much-loved destination for camping, Nubra Valley is located at 159 KMs. It can be reached by Khardung La road in four hours and thirty-nine minutes. Surrounded by lush greenery, snow clad mountains, dazzling Shyok and Nubra rivers and amazing sand dunes, spending a night at Nubra Valley camp is a fairy tale experience. Camping in serene Pangong Tso Lake with beautiful views is an awesome experience. The lake is 134 KMs long and is 224 KMs from Leh. It can be reached through Pangong Lake road by four hours and forty-nine minutes or through Khardung La road by seven hours thirty-nine minutes. Tso Moriri Lake is 220 KMs from Leh and can be reached via Keylong to Leh road in Leh-Manali Highway by four hours and fifty-four minutes. Sarchu is very popular among tourists for camping since it is the starting point of the Zanskar trek. The area of Sarchu provides an astounding adventure for camping enthusiasts. Sarchu is 490 KMs long and from Leh, it is 260 KMs. It takes six hours sixteen minutes to reach Sarchu by road. Sarchu can be reached via Keylong to Leh road in Leh-Manali Highway.

ad proper communication with the drivers should have established earlier so that our choice of places to visit could have been more clear and well informed so that they would have planned accordingly. All though not much of suggestions, but since Ladakh is a region were mobile network is very limited or NO Access to service, proper instructions should have been given to the drivers and the hotels pre-booked of our arrival and departures. Hope people reading this understand it and properly plan for the future bookings.
