Jet Airways and Air India operate the majority of the Mumbai to Kathmandu flights. Almost all of them have stops at Delhi. However, Jet Airways Mumbai to Kathmandu flight provides the fastest route.

Here’s how to reach Kathmandu from Mumbai using different transport modes.

By Air: From Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport of Mumbai, there frequent flights to Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, although not daily. Direct flights are few. To ensure the seat of your choice in a fast flight, the booking has to be done early on. The best timing is Mumbai to Kathmandu flight duration of 2 hours 50 minutes, operated by Jet Airways. Nepal Airlines Mumbai to Kathmandu flight is another direct flight, and the ticket prices are reasonable.

By Road: Going from Mumbai to Kathmandu by road is a long journey. The distance is more than 2000 km, and it can take up to 40 hours, which means one and a half day to make the journey. If one must go by road, it can be at least cut short by flying to Delhi or Varanasi first, from where there are bus routes to Kathmandu via the several border crossings.

By Rail: There are no routes to from Mumbai to Kathmandu by train. However, one can take trains to the places which are much nearer to Nepal border like Sunaoli or Raxaul via Delhi or Kolkata.
