Ariculatus's 5 days trip to Kerala

The trip ✈️ began with us landing at Kochi airport and then began our journey in a sedan with one of the most polite and helpful driver cum tour guide. It took about 3.5 hour to reach Munnar with rain and curving roads and the view was dark as a night sky without moon. Only road was visible, nothing else. At night we ate and recharged our batteries for next day. At 7.00 am next day the magic unfolded, the view was amazing, we were unable to believe we crossed these mountains and views without appreciating it. We enjoyed ride in Hot Air Baloon, activities at Wonder Valley, boat ride at Mattikutty Dam and last Kathakkali Dance viewing before returning to hotel and rest. On third day we proceeded to Thekkady. After reaching there we took Jeep Safari (the road for safari was a road to hell, all your joints and bones would be displaced just in this ride). After that we viewed the tree plantation and enjoyed Elephant ride. Then back to hotel for rest. On fourth day we left for Allapuzha. After 3.5 hours we reached near the boat house alloted to us. There we enjoyed boat ride in heavy rain, it was awesome. Newton's third law for every action in nature there is an equal and opposite reaction. With rain came the unbearable humidity, mosquitoes and sleepless night. On fifth day we left for airport and later said goodbye to a Friend, Kerala and took memories made with them. Hopefully we will meet again. Views of Munnar, first Hot Air Baloon ride, Katthakalli Dance, seeing wild elephants on mountain near Sathram view point, tree plantation, first Elephant ride and living a day in boat house in rain.

Overall it was a good experience at Kerala. Robin organised everything for us and the Driver Mathew and very jolly person and was good. Food was very good at the house boat. we were impressed about the work of the cook, he prepared tasty food(including Non-veg and tea). But when we asked for additional tea, he was not able to provide as Milk was not available. The hotel quality was good everywhere. These are all about the positive site. On the improvement note, i would suggest you to please make some background work and select the places for visit. I did not do any background work and just went according to the fixed tour of the operator but I feel, some of the places were not required. Please ask specifically which places they will be taking to (of course it is part of itinerary) do a lot of research on those places and if you feel it is good, please provide else, request them to change the plan. I think they are flexible enough to change the plan.

Spice jungle resort is not a three star hotel as the services offered are not upto mark eg. No hot shower bath , the food quality is also not good. Rest hotels were good. Driver was cooperative. House boat was not private one. Options given were not good so need to adjust with combined houseboat containing 3 rooms. Munnar road trip and spice garden visit was good.

Good things 1. The travel agent managed to solve most of our queries and provided a very well customised package within the budget. 2. The hotels provided were very amazing. 3. The cab was very comfortable and clean. 4. Overall the experience was good. There were a few issues. 1. Travel agent was not aware of the online booking option at the Periyar national park (which could have saved almost half a day for us) 2. We had to leave the cab at 6pm only whereas we requested for cab till 10pm on the last day.

Kerala is a wonderful place organized by Travel Triangle. The hotel properties were not as per expectations, standard and seemed too expensive as per the rates charged. However the driver Sajan and his cab was too good and did the balancing act and made our trip memorable. I am giving a 4 star **** just bcoz of driver or would have been even one less. Munnar is the place to be.. suggest travellers to extend a day more or even skip Thekkady

Overall the experience of our trip to Kerala was neither very good nor bad, but the dealing with the Tour operator was very bad. Once the booking is done, they don't bother about you :( If you have no other alternative you will end up in very bad memories of your trip. Rooms: - Munnar - room provided was not clean and even food was also bad. - Thekkady - Room provided in Thekkady was good. Jeep safari in Thekkady was waste of money (3K). Did not seen even a single animal and Jeep driver points to a dot on far away hill and tells you are lucky to find a dot(which he said was an Elephant). Our daughter was very much dis-appointed as we promised her to show the animals. The tour organizers show the pictures which are very impressive, but the true fact was quite opposite. - Alleppey - Our driver asked us to contact the Tour operator(Nitin from, Sethi Travels Think Holiday Group) to get the contact details of house boat. Tour Organizer provided the same, and when we tried to contact the person, they mentioned that NO house boat was reserved on our name. Our total trip from Thekkady to Alleppey we were trying to reach either Tour Organizer or house boat owner, but of no use (hardly phone signals were there on the way), both of them are not at all in sync. Finally our driver arranged for a house boat for which we had to pay an additional cost of 1500/-. Also Tour Organizer promised for a cake and other things as part of booking but he failed to provide the same. He finally promised to pay the difference amount but didn't provide it till date. But overall we had mixed feelings, but the driver we got for the entire tour was good.

It was a very well planned 5 days trip to Kerala including: Munnar, Thekkady & Alleppy. Thanks to the Book it forget it team as I didn't have to tweak anything in the itenery from what was initially proposed. We had a Desire car provided for all 5 days with a well informed driver (Subeesh). Broadbean resort, Munnar is an excellent property with courteous staff. Watching Kalaripayattu in Thekkady was a unique experience. Overall food was good in all of the resorts, but the food quality in the houseboat could have been better. Felt food in Broadbean resort was a tad expensive, but no regrets as my kids loved the resort :) All in all family had a memorable time.

Janit from J Square helped me with a 4 days plan of Munnar and Thekkady. His suggestions and plan made things eventful. We stayed in Munnar for 3 nights at Rivulet and 1 night in Thekkady at Woodnote. I would recommend everyone to stay at Rivulet. The place is breathtaking and food is amazing. The places covered and the chauffeur provided were perfect. Janit has a wide range of options that suits everyone's budget. I wil surely recommend everyone in my circle to collaborate with J Square for any trip planning. Wish I could give a 7*.!! Nature

Was good to receive multiple options in terms of hotel & prices. Also the travel agents followed up from their end. I dint have to do anything other than making a decision on which package to choose. Was a good experience to just sit back, relax and enjoy the trip. Thank you to all who made this a memorable trip. We were only a lady and minor travelling on this trip. The travel agent and driver made sure we were safe throughout.
