Travel Agent - service wise fine, but we had last minute modification in persons due to some emergency, but I feel they have taken last minute advantage and charged more amount for my trip. Almost half persons droped to trip, but they just reduced very lesser amount and that make my trip very costlier. Hotels - house boat is not as expected, can provide a better one

Suman's 6 days trip to Kerala

This was my second trip to Kerala and I booked a package for 5N 6D with Postcard travels which costed me around 62K for 4 adults and 1 child. 1.My trip started from Munnar and we were booked at a hotel Atwood which was at Pottankadu which is atleast 15 kms from main attractions at Munnar which is I think OK as in the main city of Munnar we don't have pretty good hotels. But the room provided to us at first was horrible as it didnt even have any window. which after a few discussions with the manager at the hotel, they were kind to change it to 2 suite rooms for 2 nights which I am very thankful for. but the food there was very BAD. you get only 2 options in breakfast, either idli-sambhar or set dosa and bread(not toasted)and butter which tasted sweet. at dinner on first night , we ordered dal fry, phulka and some chilly dish(i dont remember), the phulkas were like the size of a puri and the dal fry was not good at all. so the second night, we preferred to get our dinner from outside. 2. On our 3rd day, we went to Allepey where we reached our houseboat where the only the captain of the houseboat knew some english and was able to understand but the cooks weren't able to understand us. the lunch was seved right away and it was OK-ish as we were pretty hungry at 3 Pm and had our food without any issues. but the houseboat has a policy that the ACs will only work from 9 PM to 6 AM which I understand because the boats work on generators and hence they won't be able to provide that much electric supply. but there wasn't even a good table fan or wall fan to sit and relax. there was only one stand fan available at the common sitting area which was almost broken and didnt work properly to cover the range of 5 people sitting in front of it on 2 sofas. at night, we were provided chicken curry in dinner which was so spicy that the adults in our group had a hard time having it, let alone there was a 5 years old child in our group. I informed about this to the cook but he just made a face(probably didnt understand what I meant, I dont know). the AC worked at night but it constantly made noises all the time like a cricket insect. 3. on our 4th day, we checked out of our houseboat at around 9:15 AM and unfortuntely, our driver's car got some issues in its brakes and we had to wait for almost 40 mins at a garage until the car got fixed, which I understand is nobody's fault as these mechanical issues can always happen. we reached Kovalam and after taking the turn from the main road at Kovalam it took almost 20-25 mins to reach our hotel, that bad was the hotel's location. Though the hotel staffs were very polite and helpful, they didnt understand much english so we had a hard time ordering food from restaurant which also didnt have much options even if they said they had so many items in their menu card. Though their was a walking path that directly went into the Lighthouse beach and it just took 5 mins walking to reach there, but by car, the hotel is pretty interior to reach. 4. on our 4 th day, we had out Kanyakumari trip scheduled and driver said we need to leave by 10 AM but as were not well after the long drive from Allepey to Kovalam the day before, we left at 11 AM but asked the driver if we could skip waiting at Poovar and directly go to Kanyakumari but he said there's a 1.5-2hours waiting time to get the permit at Tamilnadu border and so we had out boatride at Poovar during that time and then we stopped for lunch midway to Kanyakumari. Throughout all this time, driver didn't mention once that the ticket window for the ferry to Vivekananda Rock closes at 4 PM and so when we reached the gates at 4:15 PM, we found the window closed and weren't able to visit Vivekakanada rock and instead watched it from the shores itself. 5. After the Kanyakumari disaster, we planned to get ready on time and asked the driver when do we need to leave from Kovalam to visit the Padmanabhaswamy temple at Trivandrum, so he mentioned that the temple closes at 12 PM and we need to checkout from hotel and leave Kovalam by 10 AM the next day. So we were ready in time, checked out from our hotel and reached the parking(which was around 200 m from the hotel reception) at 10 :15 AM but the driver had already texted me on Whatsapp at 5:40 AM that he is leaving for his home due to an emergency and he arranged for a separate cab for airport drop after temple visit, but the new cab somehow arrived at the parking where we were standing at around 10:50 AM and this new cab's driver didnt understand a single word of english except 'OK'. we somehow reached the temple at 11:40 AM , entered the temple with our dhotis on but the queue was long that the temple closed its main gate where we do darshan at 12 AM and we weren't able to do our darshan. we left from the temple after looking around for sometime at 12:15 PM and went to have lunch at a hotel midway and asked the driver to drop us at airport at around 3 PM.

Hi Travel Triangle Team, This is the first time we are booking a trip from the travel triangle, and here is our honest feedback. 1. Hotel rooms are not up to the expectations. In all the places, Munnar, Houseboat at Alleppey and in Kovalam we faced issues with the Room cleanliness. a. Esp at Munnar the first 2 days of our trip, we didn't enjoy our room stay. This has been communicated to the agent already and no action has been taken. Bedsheets seemed to be used, bathrooms were not clean, not provided basic necessary things in the room like bathroom mat, towels, etc. b. Houseboat we got seemed to be very old, we could hear Rats running around on the Roof of Houseboat, this caused the wood powder to fall all over our beds and created an unpleasant experience. Bathrooms were pathetic and no Water heater provided in the bathrooms, we had to skip bath for a day coz of this. c. Kovalam stay and Unwind resort. Here rooms were decent compared to above two places, but again no Hot Water provided in the bathroom. Hotel boy helped us with a hand water heater for 1 bucket which takes forever to heat. The breakfast dining area in this resort is not at all good, not maintained well. 2. Food in all places apart from Munnar's At Wood Resort is fine. We were able to manage. Munnar's At Wood Resort food is not at all good. So, we had to look for food outside. 3. Driver assigned is helpful and showed us around all places well.

Driver do not have experience and also not familiar with route. Cab was nice but because of inexperience driver we have to collect information from other sources. Hotel arrangement was really nice by Godwin except hotel at Kovalam. House boat was really superb. Overall trip was nice. I will refer godwin for tour arrangement and 2nd Godwin should check driver status and knowledge of driver about local area.

Overall experience was good but there was one hotel booking which was more than worst hotel. Kindly remove that hotel from your list. Its unwind resort in kovalam. Also kindly have someone in the team who cn guide the customers where to go and what are the timings for the tourist places so that ppl dont waste time in these things. Rest all things were good. Person who booked our package was really helpful and was available all the time.

Spice jungle resort is not a three star hotel as the services offered are not upto mark eg. No hot shower bath , the food quality is also not good. Rest hotels were good. Driver was cooperative. House boat was not private one. Options given were not good so need to adjust with combined houseboat containing 3 rooms. Munnar road trip and spice garden visit was good.

Our Kerala trip was one of the most memorable event in our life. Tripster's agent Kuldeep was ready to help us at any time and provided information at right time. Our cab driver Shafeer is very good driver at ghotroads. Hotels are very nice and worth for the money. Thanks to Travel triangle. I am submitting this feedback again because I mentioned cab driver name wrong earlier. Driver Shafeer ji is very good person, even he took care of our kid sometimes because some places my kid didn't want to get down from the car. Munnar claimate and Revertree munnar hotel view are amazing. Alleppy boat stay and food in the boat house was very very nice. We missed the Cherai beach due to bad weather. That was the only disappointment. Rest of the things were very good.

I had recently booked a family trip to Munnar from SK Holidays. Take my word, don't go by the number of reviews they have or the rating they have. Just book with them. The officials are extremely helpful. Both Khushbu and Shobit have been very helpful in arranging and planning the entire trip very well. The package and quote they provide is the best compared to all other agents. Everything was arranged perfectly. Definitely allow SK Holidays to plan your trip. They are too good. Thanks again to Khushbu and Shobit :)

Overall the experience of our trip to Kerala was neither very good nor bad, but the dealing with the Tour operator was very bad. Once the booking is done, they don't bother about you :( If you have no other alternative you will end up in very bad memories of your trip. Rooms: - Munnar - room provided was not clean and even food was also bad. - Thekkady - Room provided in Thekkady was good. Jeep safari in Thekkady was waste of money (3K). Did not seen even a single animal and Jeep driver points to a dot on far away hill and tells you are lucky to find a dot(which he said was an Elephant). Our daughter was very much dis-appointed as we promised her to show the animals. The tour organizers show the pictures which are very impressive, but the true fact was quite opposite. - Alleppey - Our driver asked us to contact the Tour operator(Nitin from, Sethi Travels Think Holiday Group) to get the contact details of house boat. Tour Organizer provided the same, and when we tried to contact the person, they mentioned that NO house boat was reserved on our name. Our total trip from Thekkady to Alleppey we were trying to reach either Tour Organizer or house boat owner, but of no use (hardly phone signals were there on the way), both of them are not at all in sync. Finally our driver arranged for a house boat for which we had to pay an additional cost of 1500/-. Also Tour Organizer promised for a cake and other things as part of booking but he failed to provide the same. He finally promised to pay the difference amount but didn't provide it till date. But overall we had mixed feelings, but the driver we got for the entire tour was good.
