      FAQs for Uttarakhand

How much does a Chopta trip cost?

The average cost of a Chopta trip will depend upon the number of people travelling, the type of accommodation (luxury, budget, family), and the number of days you plan to spend at the destination. For 6 nights and 7 days with a Chopta package from Haridwar, you can end up shelling out INR 23,000 whereas if you are planning a long trip it will cost you significantly more. This is also one of the best places for budget travel which you can practice by a frugal approach to limit other expenses and still get to trek the routes available.

How many days is enough for Chopta?

If you are planning a short weekend getaway in Chopta to cover a few major travel destinations, a 3-4 day trip can help you get a vibe of this state. The alternative is a long escapade to immerse yourself in the culture for which we recommend our Chopta package from Haridwar which is a 7-10 days trip in which you can explore multiple destinations. The number of days will also depend on the kind of activities you are planning to include in your itinerary. Trekking and sightseeing in Chopta can be best enjoyed on a slow travel journey which is why we recommend the longer itineraries with our package for the most fulfilling experience.

      Is Chopta trek difficult?

While walking the rugged terrain can be fairly difficult for first-timers, the route to Tungnath and Chandrashila are some of the most popular trekking places that you can visit during your journey. The entire trip can be classified as moderately difficult for beginners, and easy for those who are acclimated to walking long distances on hilly terrain. If you are looking for a Chopta package from Haridwar, don’t forget to include this activity in your itinerary. You can choose between a guided tour or a solo/group tour to enjoy this experience with your friends.

Which is the best time to visit Chopta?

The best time to visit Chopta is from April to November. However, if one wants to enjoy snowfall then December to March would be the best time to experience snowfall in Chopta.

How far is Chopta from Haridwar?

The distance between Haridwar and Chopta is about 184 km.

Where should one accommodate in Chopta?

Travelers should accommodate in camps in Chopta to enjoy the best time of their life.

Memorable trip except that more time spent on travelling. We felt we could have travelled less places and spent more time in each place. Pls do not suggest ' mount view annexy' at Joshimath to anyone. All wash rooms are leaking water and stinking. They in fact changed our room but in that room also tap problem. Drainage cum rain water running in front of the hotel. But the people at reception were very nice. Just that they are not maintaining wash rooms. Musssorie hotel room view, drive to joshimath from bhimtal view on the way, kempty falls.. Ganga aarti at triveni ghat

Krishna Holidays arranged family trip to Uttarakhand (Rishikesh, Chopta, Joshimath, Auli) This is one of the memorable trip for us. There were unpleasant situation during my trip with Krishna Holidays team 1. Charan, Driver didn't have adequate information about my tour itinerary and we missed few places. This should have been provided by Krishna Holidays and ensure Driver understood itinerary clearly. 2. I really felt bad that Charan, Driver didn't have adequate cash during the trip.. he borrowed money from me for Fuel, a few times for Food.... Ensure that the driver has adequate money during each travel plan and the driver carries valid vehicle documents. This would really help Krishna holidays to the next level. 3. As per Itinerary (Day 4 | 24 March 2021| | Auli Sightseeing), clearly mentioned that "After breakfast Process to Auli by Ropeway, Auli Lake and skiing in Auli, Auli Himalaya Range View Point Auli to Gorsan Track then Process to Resort Check in into resort and overnight stay in Auli." But Sushmitha mentioned that Ropeway was not part of the package... it looks contradictory.... I sent email to Krishna Holidays. So far not received any response. Now I'm forced to provide feedback in public forum. Note: To ensure a smooth trip, I brought a Ropeway ticket on my own and proceeded with the trip.

Overall, we had a good trip. Couple of pointers: 1) There was a lack of communication from the travel agent to the driver..while he was an excellent driver and we had absolutely no issues with him, he had no knowledge of where or which hotel he was supposed to drop us. In addition to the poor network, in Chopta especially, we wasted over 2 hrs trying to find the camps. 2) The basic hygiene in the Chopta camp wasn’t taken care off..the sheets were , I suppose not changed at all and there were insects on the bed. 3) Would have appreciated a communication from your end on the basics of a mountain side trip..for example-one can only travel 20km/hr or the vehicle doesn’t reach the hotel/ camp and one needs to walk/climb up to them.. 4) The driver was really good, patient and very well versed with mountain side driving and we were very happy with his services In all, we had a memorable trip..Thank you

Our overall experience was very good.Hotels provided were good except one. The hotel Pride Inn in rishikesh was the worst experience. The hotel was under renovation and we were not informed about that. No proper hot water for which we had to call up many times and ask. There was no electricity for more than 2 hrs and the generator not working. This type of hotel shouldn't be recommended when the customer asks for a good hotel. The trip sailor tour could have given us a good hotel and not something which is under renovation. Hotel in Jim Corbett was very good only problem was with the road but that's ok.

This was our first ever North Trip with full family, and I am glad that my whole family had a memorable trip! Thank you for organizing things so well. The best memory or the best thing about the trip was during the Cab journey from beginning to end, the driver was so knowledgable and such a good man. The hotel stay at Manali, was excellent, the staff was super nice and view was also good. We had the best memorable moment at Manali, during Atal Tunnel and Koksar visit, we got to experience the Snow and also LIVE SNOWFALL! All thanks to the driver for suggesting those places. We wish we had a memorable experience at Shimla too, but, the hotel stay was not good at all. I wish that could have been better. Overall the coordination, communication and organization by the team was remarkable and I appreciate the experiences we had, we will cherish them forever :) Thank you, again!

I opted for Cab Services through Travel Triangle, a decision that proved to be beneficial. Kamini played a crucial role in providing valuable insights, from suggesting the best quote and negotiating to recommending places to visit. She meticulously crafted a day-to-day itinerary for the entire 6-day trip. The cab was in excellent condition, and the driver, aside from ensuring a smooth ride, offered helpful suggestions for the best places to eat and shop. However, to provide constructive feedback, there were a few areas that could have been improved. Firstly, there was a lack of communication about the change in the driver and cab. I discovered the difference between the Airport pickup and drop-off drivers and cabs from the driver himself. A more organized approach in managing and informing customers about such changes, especially given the circumstances, would have been appreciated.
