By air:

The aerial distance from Bangalore to Amritsar is 2090 Kms. Owing to this large distance, most tourists opt for commutation via airways. The nearest airport to Amritsar is Guru Ram Das Jee airport. As there no direct flights from Bangalore to Amritsar, one  needs to board a flight to Delhi and then take connecting flight to Amritsar. A number of airlines like Vistara, Air India, Indigo etc, operate between this 3 cities . The time taken to reach Amritsar from Bangalore by air is around 3-8 hours.

By train:

As there are no direct Bangalore to Amritsar train, one can either commute to Delhi or Chandigarh via train and then board another train to Amritsar. Trains operating between Delhi and Bangalore include Kongu Express, Karnataka Express, Bangalore Rajdhani and several others. Train operating between Bangalore and Chandigarh is Ypr Skrantiexp.  After reaching Delhi one can board trains operating between Delhi and Amritsar- Katihar Amritsar Express, Amritsar Express, Shane Punjab, Amritsar Shtbdi and Swarna Shtbdi. Train operating between Chandigarh and Amritsar include Cdg Asr Sup. Owing to the large Bangalore to Amritsar distance, it usually takes 15 hours to reach Amritsar from Bangalore via train.

By road:

Bangalore to Amritsar distance by road is around 2,601 Kms. As there are no direct buses running between Bangalore and Amritsar, one can take a cab or bus to Delhi and then board a bus to Amritsar. One can also hire a private cab or take their own vehicle to reach the destination via NH 44. It approximately takes 41 hours to reach from Bangalore to Amritsar via road.
