Historically known as Ramdaspur, the city of Amritsar is one of the holiest sites for both Hindus and Sikhs. Apart from religious and historical sites, Amritsar is well-known for its fabrics, cuisines, handicrafts and farm produce. It is one of the most visited destinations of North India. Below is a short description on how to reach Amritsar from Chennai via various available means.

By air:

Commutation via air is the most fastest way to reach anywhere, especially when there is a huge distance. The aerial distance from Chennai to Amritsar is around 2135 Kms. However, as there are no direct flights operating between the two cities, one can take up flights to Delhi and then take connecting flight to Amritsar. By train:

By road:

A road trip from North to South is one of the most exhilarating experiences that one can ever cherish. However, due to the exhausting long journey, few tourists opt for this mode of commutation. As there are no direct buses operating between Chennai and Amritsar, one can either commute to Delhi via bus or car and then board  bus to Amritsar.
