By Air

 

If you are traveling to Sikkim by flight, there is no airport as such here as it is in a hilly area. To get here from Bangalore, you can travel to the nearest airport in West Bengal, the Bagdogra airport. This airport is situated about 124 kilometers from Gangtok and there are taxis and cabs that will take you to your destination.

 

By Rail

 

Sikkim does not have its own railway station and if you plan on traveling to Sikkim from Bangalore by train, you will have to travel to the nearest stations. The closest railways stations to Sikkim are the NJP railway junction and the New Jalpaiguri station, both of which are in West Bengal. There are regular buses, taxis and cabs from the stations to Gangtok and it will take about 3-4 hours to reach.

 

By Road

 

If you plan on traveling to Sikkim from Bangalore by road, there are several buses that you can take. There are regular buses by the Sikkim Nationalized Transport that you can take. It is easy to get a cab or taxi from the bus station to Gangtok or any other part of Sikkim.
