The fastest and most convenient means to reach from Pune to Sikkim is by air. One can board a direct flight from Chhatrapati Shivaji Airport in Mumbai which takes around 2 hours while a connecting Pune to Sikkim flight takes around 5 hours of travel time. Travelers who wish to use the railway services to cover Pune to Sikkim distance can take a train up to NJP railway station in Siliguri as there are no direct Pune to Sikkim trains. As you reach Sikkim, spend time with the warm-hearted people of the city and immerse yourself in the local culture of this region. Get a taste of the local Tibetan vibe and culture and try river rafting on the Teesta river, go on a cable car and yak rides, enjoy a trekking spree, try mountain biking, bird watching, hiking and much more. By Air

If you are wondering how to reach Sikkim from Pune by flight, you will have to take a flight to Bagdogra airport in North Bengal. This is because Sikkim does not have not its own airport. The Bagdogra airport is around 124 kilometers from Gangtok and you can take a cab or taxi from the airport to the city.

By Train

If you want to travel to Sikkim by train, the nearest railway stations to Gangtok are the Siliguri and New Jalpaiguri stations. Travel by train from Pune to these stations and then travel by cab or taxi to any part of Sikkim, including the capital Gangtok. A taxi or cab generally costs around INR 1500. There is also a jeep service to Gangtok on a sharing basis that will cost you around INR 120 per person.

By Road

There are regular buses that will take you from Pune to Sikkim. These buses are run by the Sikkim Nationalized Transport and you should book these tickets in advance. From the bus stop, you can easily get a shared cab or taxi to Gangtok.

Nikhil helped organize a 7 N / 8 D trip to Darjeeling and Sikkim.. Was really well planned. The hotels were comfortable and food arrangements extremely good. Driver who took us along was an excellent guide. Good part was we were able to tweak the itinerary to couple of more areas whilst at Gangtok.
