History of Delta Park

Delta Park in the city comes with an extremely rich history. There are many reasons why Delta Park is quite popular with the kids and the community. The area, which is now known as the Delta Park, used to be a farm in the past. The park was a part of the Klipfontein back in the 19th Century. In 1902, this park became the grazing place for the cows of William Rattray’s estate.

However, when it comes to finding the roots of the park’s name, it is safe to say that the name comes from the time when the farms on the outskirts of the city were being transformed; a different kind of sewage was put into place. The sewage plan was called Delta Sewage Disposal Works, which gave rise to what we now know as the Delta Park, JHB.
