How to Reach Mount Lavinia Colombo

Bandaranaike International Airport in Colombo is the closest International airport. From there, take Galle Road, or A2 Highway to E03 and then peel off towards Canada Friendship Road or AB9 to reach the destination. This is the fastest solution to how to reach Mount Lavinia because no one likes to wait on delicious seafood and a glamorous nightlife for long. This route is well traversed and takes about two hours in all. Popular travel options include buses, cabs, or better still – a Tuk Tuk.

How to reach Mount Lavinia is no longer a vexing question to travelers and food enthusiasts as it is easy to reach the beach from Colombo Harbor. The fastest route is to take A2 to Mt. Lavinia Beach. Drive past Yoho Beach to Mt. Lavinia Beach. There are buses plying this road all day. If tourists opt for Sri Lanka’s famous Tuk Tuk, there is no need to worry about directions or face the hassle of a difficult journey.

There is a third option of taking a train for how to reach Mount Lavinia. The closest train station to Bandaranaike International Airport is Katunayake Junction station. This is, however, a single track line and it may be difficult to get a train to the outskirts of Colombo. It may be far wiser to take a bus, cab, or Tuk Tuk Safari. Our holiday with trip travel hub was good. Efficient service for people in our group wanting a change in itenary at last moment. Travel agent was very accommodating. Gave us good car with driver. Only at Mirissa the room given to us was on 4th floor but no lift facility.

I would say my overall trip was fine but there is scope of improvement when it comes to itinerary and planning. We could not cover a lot of points irrespective of the fact we started everyday as early as 9am. We barely got any time to shop in Colombo, in fact Lotus tower was the only place we could vidit after our arrival to Colombo and the cab driver didn't let us shop the next day or on our last day when we headed 5-6 hours early to the airport. The hotels were good except for the fact that two of them had no lifts but we had to climb stairs which was not beforehand. In fact the hotel which had a great view in Kandy, I requested the agent if we could stay there instead of going to Nuwara eliya but since it was last minute it was not acceptable. I would give 3 out 5 as there is scope of having better experience. My best memory is the time we spent in the Millennium elephant orphanage where we fed and bathed the elephant and walked with one.
