Best Time to Visit Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, Kandy

The timings of the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage are from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm. However, the best time to visit the popular sanctuary is from 9 am to 1 pm as this is when the elephants come out to proceed with their daily activities. The elephants are fed milk at 9 am and 1 pm and given a bath from 10 am to 12 pm. The remaining hours consist of watching the elephants interact with each other in their respective closed boundaries.

We had 7 night stay at 6 different hotels. We have asked and paid for 4 star hotel catagory. Thre hotels at Sigiriya, Seeduwa and Nuwara Eliya were not good. The hotel at Nuwara Eliya was of a home stay catagory. Agent should have booked better hotels.

Hotels were good except Royal Classic Resort, Kandy (so worst that I can't describe) and Ocean Edges and suits Colombo (average). our. We visited most of the famous hindu temples and Ramayana sites in Sri Lanka which was main object of our this Ramayana tour of Sri Lanka. I am thankful to whole TravelTriangle team and Ms. Chetna for arranging and helping us for our tour. Besides few bitter experiences, we are overall satisfied. Best moment was our visit to Bhakta Hanuman Temple and Chinmaya Mission managed Restaurant there. Actually, the meal severed there was pure veg and like prasadam.
