North East Tour Package From Mumbai

The North East of India is filled with ethereal beauty that makes the heart skip a beat. It comprises Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Mizoram, Sikkim and Tripura.
After Sikkim became a part of North Eastern Region in 2002, these states are collectively and lovingly referred to as "7 Sisters and 1 Brother."

This goes without saying that the entire North East region is a thriving hub of diverse flora and fauna. It has been recognised as a biodiversity hotspot. While most flowering species of plants are endangered all over the Indian subcontinent, you will find that the forests in North East harbour 8000 flowering species most of which are endangered. Many endangered species of animals are also found thriving in the states of North East India.

Northeast India has very distinct and delicious cuisine. Although most of the dishes are non vegetarian in nature, some must-have vegetarian dishes are also available. Thukpa, apong, jadoh, bekang, gundruk, fish stew and fermented fish are the some of the favourite dishes. The state of Assam is also very famous for its tea plantations. Most tourists like to pack along some of the diverse varieties of tea available at the state.

Ideal Duration

It would be preferable to set aside at least 2-3 weeks for your trip to Northeast considering the number of states that you will visit on your trip. With any Northeast Tour Packages from Mumbai, you will be taken to all the 8 states and there will be numerous places for you to visit. Therefore, it is advisable not to plan a short trip of 6 Nights and 7 Days as it will become difficult for you to visit all the places with this duration.

The temperature during monsoon is also diverse along the different states, you can expect it to range between 10 to 30 degrees Celsius. As northeast harbours the wettest place on Earth, you can expect moderate to heavy rainfall all throughout the region. This season is the best to visit North East if you wish to enjoy the lush green trees sway with the rain. You can enjoy your stay at resorts and enjoy the monsoon.

North East in Winter (October to February)

Winters in North East are severe with the temperature ranging from 0 to 24 degrees Celsius. Enjoy a snow fight or go skiing down the mountains. The other states experience moderate to severe weather.

However, as most of these states are not completely developed, you will have to travel by road to the interconnected states.

By Air

Four states in Northeast out of the 8 states have airports. They are: Manipur, Nagaland, Tripura and Assam. You can book a flight from Mumbai to any of these states. Your flight tickets can range anywhere between 5000 to 7000 INR.

By Rail

Siliguri and Guwahati are the only two cities in Northeast that have a railway station to connect Northeast to Mumbai. Guwahati Express is one of the trains that go from Mumbai to Guwahati.

Soumenchandra's 6 days trip to North East

We truly had a wonderful time exploring Arunachal Pradesh with your team and appreciated the variety of experiences throughout the trip. Starting from the beginning, the cab provided was comfortable, and our initial driver, Ashok, was friendly and courteous. The hotel at Bhalukpong was adequate for an overnight stay, although we did face some issues with the bathroom's water supply, and one of the rooms did not have a functioning geyser. Additionally, dinner service was delayed by approximately an hour and a half from the requested time. The next day, we were introduced to our new driver, Sofikul. Initially, there was a language barrier, but it was eventually resolved, and we had a pleasant experience with him. The homestay in Dirang was excellent. In Tawang, the hotel offered good amenities; however, we were surprised to find that tea was charged separately despite the breakfast being complimentary. In Bomdila, the accommodation was cozy and served the purpose for a one-night stay. Overall, we had a good experience over the six-day trip. However, there were a few concerns that we would like to highlight: Upon our arrival, when we inquired with Ashok about the travel time to Kamakhya, his first question was, “Do you have Kamakhya on your itinerary?” This raised concerns, as we expected the drivers to be well-versed with the itinerary beforehand. A similar situation occurred the next day with Sofikul, who also seemed unaware of the planned route and sites. As a result, we missed our first scheduled stop at Orchid Garden in Tippi. Additionally, we took an incorrect route to reach our homestay in Dirang due to a misunderstanding, as the driver had been initially informed that it was the correct path. While the next two days proceeded smoothly, Day 6 presented another issue. Our itinerary included visits to Kameng Valley and the Bhutan border. However, no local residents, including our driver, appeared to be familiar with Kameng Valley, and we were unable to visit it. Later, we were informed that we would travel to Tezpur, where Ashok would rejoin us and accompany us to Guwahati. This change in the plan was unexpected, and it seemed to us that there was a lack of internal communication regarding the route. Sofikul mentioned he could have taken the Shergaon route if needed, but it was evident that he preferred the Tezpur route, which unfortunately led to us missing another destination. As compensation, we were told we could visit two other temples, but Ashok mentioned that one was located within Guwahati city and not feasible due to time constraints. He was also hesitant about visiting the second temple, but upon our insistence, we managed to go there. Lastly, on April 12th, I reached out to our trip manager, Pravin. He informed me that he was on leave and provided the contact details of Nikita, who was indeed very helpful. However, it would have been appreciated if this had been communicated proactively, as we respect the importance of personal time and would have avoided disturbing him unnecessarily. In conclusion, while we genuinely enjoyed the trip and the beautiful locations, there were several instances of miscommunication between the agency and the drivers. Addressing these gaps in coordination would greatly enhance the overall experience for future travelers. Travel to Bumla pass.

Thanks to Prabhat for arranging and planning our trip; we got to see a lot of good places and made many memories Few things could be better: 1. We missed a lot of good places and restaurants due to communication challenges with the driver, 2. The Dawki accommodation was terrible, and it didn't match what was shared with me, 3. I was told that April is the best month to visit, but it's not, 4. Dawki is best in December, I feel that we could have spent more time in Cherrapunji or Shillong , 5. The trip in itself was hectic due to cab travel and every day change to a different hotel, it would have been better if we stayed more than one night.

Thahir's 4 days trip to North East

Overall our trip was good with few things that could be much better. The first resort booked which was the Cherapunjee holiday resort was the best of all, the hospitality provided by the resort was superb , our stay there was extremely enjoyable. The second resort that was booked was the Ka Bri War resort near Dawki which was actually just a hotel and no resort like amenities in it yet . It was just ok . The third resort that was booked was the Roinam retreat which was extremely disappointing for the price that we paid to the travel agency. The wooden floors had nails that had come out at few places , the shower head not functioning properly, the shower curtain was dirty , the swimming pool not cleaned and maintained. The food was good though , the staff were polite . There was a leaflet in the room that the guest will be charged 150 rupees for the hand towel and 500 rupees for the bath towel if missing from room and if anything damaged the guest is responsible which was disturbing . The driver was good and polite . We felt that we ourselves could have done much better than what the travel agency did for the price we paid to them .
