How To Reach Ganpatipule

By Road

This quaint beach town is easily accessible by road. It is located 32 km away from the Nivali Village on the Mumbai to Goa route. You need to take NH 17 and take a right from the village to head to Ganapatipule. The distance from Mumbai is 375 km via Mahad. From Pune, it is 331 km via Satara. There are State buses as well as private buses available from major towns and cities such as Mumbai, Pune, Ratnagiri, Sholapur, Panjim, Miraj and several more to Ganpatipule. 

By Air

The nearest airport to Ganpatipule is the Ratnagiri Airport which is 17 km away. The nearest major airports are in Mumbai at 352 km and Pune at 335 km. All major domestic airlines have flights on these routes on a daily basis. 

By Train

The biggest railhead near Ganpatipule is at Ratnagiri which is located at 30 km. The railway network is quite robust and it is well connected with major cities such as Mumbai, Pune, Delhi, Sholapur, Sangli, Goa, etc.

Best Time To Visit Ganpatipule

Ganpatipule in Winter (November to February)

Mercury levels hover between 12°C to 25°C between November to February making this beautiful beach town a perfect holiday destination. This is the perfect time to indulge in the various water sports available here. 

Ganpatipule in Summer (March to June)

Its location on the Konkan Coast, Ganpatipule has a typical tropical climate with temperatures soaring to 38°C on the hottest days. Although the days are quite hot, the evenings are pleasant with a soothing sea breeze blowing every now and then. This is off-season time for this area so the places are less crowded and accommodations are a lot cheaper. Ganpatipule in Monsoon (July to October)

Ganpatipule receives heavy rainfall during the Monsoons and there is not much to do outside during this time. August to September is time for Ganesh Chaturthi and the whole town comes alive with week-long celebrations.

  1. Jaigad Fort - Located at 14 km from Ganpatipule, Jaigad Fort was built on the top of a cliff overlooking the Arabian Sea. It offers a panoramic view of the bay that is formed in the place where Shastri River meets the Arabian Sea.
  2. Ganpatipule Temple- This serene unspoiled beach town was named after this magnificent Temple. This Temple is about 400 years old and it is located on top of a hill offering a panoramic view of the Konkan coast and the surrounding hills which are covered by mango, betel nut, jackfruit, and coconut trees.
  3. Ganpatipule Beach - This is a beautiful rocky beach with fine silvery sand and surrounded by lush green hills.
