Lake Tekapo Holiday Packages

Lake Tekapo

The town, Lake Tekapo (the name is similar to the lake) is on the southern tip of the lake, and has some of the most splendid and sweeping views imaginable. The lake is present in Mackenzie District on the southern island of New Zealand.
A turquoise lake amid the snow-clad mountains, Lake Tekapo sparkles beneath the blue sky. It is often a magical experience to see a line-up of mountains reflecting on its waters. Its rock floor is a specialty as the glaciers roll down grinding the rock particles and depositing them on the lake’s floor.

The splendid view of the lake and skiing opportunities on the mountains is worth the visit if you book Lake Tekapo packages. Therefore, often tourists who are traveling from Christchurch to Mount Cook make it a base station on the route.

How To Reach

By Road

Several bus services that travel to Tekapo are available from Christchurch Airport, Queenstown or Wanaka and Christchurch. It is a three hours journey from Christchurch airport to Lake Tekapo. The distance for a road trip is 1200 km.

By Air

The nearest airport to reach Lake Tekapo is Christchurch airport. If you are traveling from the cities of Australia or other countries, you can fly to Christchurch airport.

By Train

You can also take a train if you are traveling from Rangiora to reach Lake Tekapo. However, there are obvious disadvantages as the trains run once every day on this route and the time duration is longer than by road, that is a little more than 4 hours.

Best Time To Visit

Lake Tekapo during winter months (mid-November to late December)

You can visit Lake Tekapo in the winter months when the icy-blue water projects a strikingly different image compared to the snow-capped mountains. It is when the nearby ski fields remain busy and you can be a part of thrilling adventures down the snowy terrain.

The place as a part of Lake Tekapo packages offers many snow activities and you can have good fun out there. However, in case you are there for a relaxing trip, viewing the perfect natural and scenic beauty can keep you occupied as well.

Lake Tekapo during summers

If you have to consider the aesthetics of the place, then summers are no less. The summers enliven the lake, as the wildflowers add to the beauty. You can have a swim in the pristine lake. These aspects make it a perfect visit even for the summer holidays.

Tekapo has many summer activities for its visitors, so you can also look out for a trip during the summer holidays.

Dr's 6 days trip to Kashmir

Booked a 6 day trip to kashmir via Kashmir Boulevard, May 1-6th. Positive first, our travel agent Arwa was very helping and adjusted hotels according to my likings, Hotels were good, comfy, with nice staff, always helping people the people of kashmir, <3 and the complementary Breakfast + Dinner were simple yet delicious throughout. We paid a total of 44500 + 600 fees, Negatives now, Day1 Srinagar only 1 out of 6 places were covered. Driver had to go early for eid he said, will accommodate later. Day 2 was good Day 3 was supposed to be gulmarg, but it was Eid, driver Hilal said he will come late as its a festival and will leave early, we agreed, told us or he will arrange for other driver or even a 2 wheeler so that we can Rome accordingly for local Srinagar sightseeing, but he cut the call and switched off the phone, we even called his superior Mr. Bilal, he said he will come, but no message or call came through for entire day 3. We spent our own money n covered 1-2 places. Next day he is explaining that his father took his phone and asked him to not go as it was eid, he is a grown man with family, kids, work. we were adjusting and open to any idea he suggested but he ghosted us for the whole day. He said will adjust on day 5 at it was local sightseeing. Day 4- missed the Awantipora ruins as in itinerary, said will cover on coming back on Day5 Day 5- he is completely absent other driver Mr. Aizaz ( was good) has picked us up n then again we missed Awantipor saying it was too dark now. This was our Night on-a Houseboat, after being dropped at dal lake at 9 pm by Mr. Aizaz, there was no confirmation for the Shanaz houseboat, owner said he has no booking, we were standing there for 30 minutes at the bank, then finally the confusion cleared after i called Mr. Bilal, we were taken to other houseboat ( Mayqueen, it was much better). Also shikra ride was cut short to 15 min from 1 hour as in itinerary. Too many confusion, and we missed-many places described in itinerary. One does plan prior because they wants to have a comfy travel, but these instances totally ruined our experience except for 3/6 days. Day 6 Finally Gulmarg which was compensated for Day 3 of Eid. Management could be much better Sonmarg was the best.

Susheel's 8 days trip to Ladakh

Milli tours and travels planned our Leh-Ladakh trip. I was in constant touch with the agent but they didn't have the due diligence in managing the trip. I have had informed right from Day 1 that two of my friends who were joining the trip are international travelers who were from one of the SAARC countries, however, the agent had no diligence but asked for AADHAR card details just one day before the trip started and then started various stories without AADHAR card the permits cannot be obtained and so on. In reality, I and my friends have had shared the passport and other details about 20 days in advance before the trip which was pretty much enough time for them to plan and obtain all the necessary permits. At last, my friends didn't get the permit that is required to visit Nubra and Pangong, instead, they were put on a trip to Srinagar, Kargil, Sonamarg, and Alchi (which was good), however, not what they intended to visit. With this, I'd say that the tour operator needs to be diligent in organizing. Also, the other group (we group of 3) when we went to Nubra faced issues where things were miscommunicated and were put to another camp than what we had actually booked, and in Pangong Lake, we were provided only one room instead of 2 that we had booked. We faced quite a few hassles during the entire trip. However, the best part was the good and safe driver, who drove us safely to locations. Ladakhi people are warm and helpful, enjoyed visiting Ladakh, however, definitely not the best experience with Milli Group of Tour Travels. I'd suggest that they take due diligence when they're organizing trips. It is highly unlikely that I'd suggest them to anyone.

Tangotn's 5 days trip to Ladakh

Trip was well planned and executed, Driver Tashi was polite and always on time. Hotel oriental at leh was very good with tasty food. Hotel Organic boutique at Nubra was also good but two cockroach was in room. This may be because of kitchen in adjacent room. One star reduced for that. Regal camp at pangong was changed in last movement but 100 sky camp was very good and comfortable. Best view from all hotels and camp. Camp was near to pangong lakes 3 idiots shooting points. Trip coordinator Mr Stanzing was always available on phone call.

Devashin's 7 days trip to Nepal

Our trip was well organized. Pickup from the airport was smooth. Communication with the travel agent was good - his responses were prompt and whenever we would have an issue, he was there to help resolve them. Mentioning the hiccups only so anyone planning their trip can foresee them and try to get them resolved pre-emptively. I was traveling with my aged parents and had informed the agent about them wanting to have less running around to do and comfortable car and hotel stay, etc. 1. The car we were assigned on Day 1 was not good - it was really old - the AC didn't work, the doors wouldn't shut properly, etc. So we informed the agent and were thankfully given a new, better car...BUT the driver was truly a maniac. He kept talking on the phone (not on bluetooth, like actually with the phone to his ear), while driving. I had to tell him thrice to stop doing that - requested him to park on the side to take or make any calls - still didn't listen and continued this to day 2. And the speeds at which he was driving - he wasn't even slowing down on the turns. Both parents requested him to drive slower, but I guess he was just stupid or something. 2. Our day 2 itinerary in Pokhra was really really light. TOO light. We were done by 11 AM. Seriously. And then we were asked to just hang out at the lake - which one can do for a day, really, but we had done just that the previous day. So when booking, make sure that there is enough sightseeing, moving around involved otherwise it just becomes a hop around from one city to another. Otherwise hotels in Chitwan and Pokhra were good. One in Kathmandu was OK. They booked our Mt. Everest flight with ease and it was nice. So 4 stars overall :)

Bibhubikash's 8 days trip to Ladakh

This was our first trip to Leh-Ladakh. We went via Travel Triangle to select the best Travel Agency. Laxman Singh of Travel Triangle helped us in that. We Selected Leh Ladakh Journey from all the various quotes based on our criteria of Best possible hotels, One camp stay and Same SUV for the entire trip. We have to thank Leh Ladakh Journey especially our contact at Leh Ladakh Journey Bhavna ji for the meticulously well planned trip. Owner of Leh Ladakh Journey Mr Sushant also was available for any queries that we might have. We had made the booking and payment in advance via Travel Triangle. Thank you Bhavna Ji for a very well planned and well executed Trip. The Driver was very well experienced especially considering the tough road conditions. Resprts, Hotels and Camp Stay - everything was the best possible in April Start. Highest Motorable road in the world - KhardugLa Pass - Once in a life time experience as it was my wife's Birthday when we went there, Cake was arranged by Bhavna ji and Sushant Ji - Huge thank you for that. Pyongyang lake trip was awesome. Hunder Sand Dunes, Camel Ride, India-Pak Border visit. Each and everything was planned well By Bhavna ji - Thank you Bhavna Ji and Thank you Leh Ladakh Journey and Travel Triangle. Highly recommended - Leh-Ladakh Must Visit Once in a life time. One of our friends said this by watching the view on Video call - Just 2 eyes are not enough to experience the beauty of nature here. Very well said. In Our view, No Other destination will even be close to the beauty you can experience in Leh Ladakh - not even any foreign destinations. We experienced Snow in April Trip, We plan to visit Leh Ladakh Once more very soon. Amazing experience.

The arrangements were ok. There were many places where we have to go on our own and some places mentioned in the itinerary were not accessible by cab. At one place driver was not able to locate the attraction. The visit became more of a visit to temples i Uttarakhand Visit to Nainital lake and places around it.

Supresh's 6 days trip to Kashmir

My first day of stay was cancelled and instead of accomodating in another houseboat in Dal Lake they provided me with far away hotel stay. The hotel stay in Pahalgam was not upto the standards . I didn't find food also good at that place and it was not a 3 star hotel too. Looked like 1.5 star hotel. Only Hotel I asked the tour operator was good and the one at Sonmarg was good. While the hotel stay at Gulmarg was good but it was not in Gulmarg as travel agent didn't tell like . It was in Tangmarg.

Hotel have serious electricity problem and due to warm weather , it's really tough to cope up without AC .. Staff is helpful but their premium rooms with lake view are just a normal one , not even same which is potrait on their website... Property is close to beach , so that's the point of excitement and it's virgin beach with good view all the time.. If anyone is looking peaceful location and beach view then must try for their suits with pool , that is worth for sure.. Beach view and peaceful location...
