How to reach Uttarakhand
For those looking forward to their next venture or adventure in the Himalayas, it doesn’t get better than Uttarakhand. Travelling solo or with your loved ones with a bite of crisp mountain air and murmur of gurgling freshwater streams is hardly unmatched by any travel destination in India. The Kumaon region makes up the southeastern districts in Uttarakhand while Garhwal region comprises northwestern area.
Almora is the cultural capital of Kumaon region while the Garhwal region is centred by the state capital Dehradun. High-altitude roads, or whatever passes for it, offer thrilling experiences to out-of-state travellers. The state of Uttarakhand is easily accessible by any mode of transport: road, rail, and air. Travellers can book their choice of transport to plan their Uttarakhand holidays in advance. Looking up on how to reach Uttarakhand? Here is our detailed information:
Popular places to visit in Uttarakhand include Dehradun, Nainital, Mussoorie, Rishikesh, and Jim Corbett National Park. The state is also the site of several pilgrimage places which are thronged by thousands of devotees. Each of these destinations is well-connected with major metro cities in India.
There are two domestic airports in Uttarakhand. The Jolly Grant Airport (DED) in Dehradun is located 22
kilometres from the city centre. It is served by regular nonstop flights from Delhi, Bangalore, Mumbai,
and Chennai. Alliance Air, IndiGo, and Jet Airways provide commercial flights to and from Dehradun.
Pantnagar Airport (PGH) serves as a gateway to hill stations like Nainital, Ranikhet, and Almora. The
distance between Jim Corbett National Park and Pantnagar Airport is about 120 km.
Reaching Nainital or Dehradun by rail is the cheapest and perhaps the most convenient way to visit. The
train station in Kathgodam, 35 km from Nainital, is the last terminus of the North East railways.
Kathgodam train station has rail connectivity with Delhi, Dehradun, and Howrah (Kolkata). Trains to
Dehradun railway station come from Delhi, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, and Punjab. Jan
Shatabdi Express, Dehradun Express, Doon Express, and Nanda Devi Express are major trains serving
One of the main reasons to visit the hills in Uttarakhand is the joy that comes from the time spent on the
road itself. The state has more than 1,328 km of national highways and 1,543 km of state highways. The
Uttarakhand Transport Corporation runs around 1000 buses in and out of the state.
Haridwar and Rishikesh are connected to Delhi by NH 34 and NH 7 passes through Dehradun with
Badrinath. Highways 109 and 309 interlink Nainital, Almora, and Jim Corbett National Park. The
proposed Char Dham Highway will connect all four major pilgrimage sites in Uttarakhand. Taxi rentals
are available in all major travel destinations in Uttarakhand.

Vivek's 3 days trip to UttarakhandWe had a very good trip to Mussoorie thanks to Ms. Khushboo from Global Gateways. Even though it was a bit last minute trip, she helped us with all the possible customisations regarding, hotel, route etc. She was always available for any queries and was easy to reach. Was expecting more support and help from the Travel triangle team. Bike ride to Lal Tibba
Himanshu's 9 days trip to UttarakhandGreat service by celebrate vacation..good hotels...courteous n helpfuL driver....
Sameer's 3 days trip to UttarakhandNot a good experience. 1. No response or call back from travel triangle partner after multiple calls. 2. No bluetooth or aux cab in cab. 3. Many points missed- driver did not took the responsibility of showing all the points. 4. Driver adamant, discouraging to take to one of the points mentioned in the our itself. 5. Driver's driving skills were good but communication skills were very bad. 5. No generator during power cut in hotel shiv villas. Good points: 1. First hotel Urmi was great. 2.Driver's driving skills were good.

Sachinsri's 4 days trip to UttarakhandVery nice, but there was nothing in ranikhet Kausani view
Guptasubhi's 3 days trip to UttarakhandEverything seemed to be good in the package when we went for it but when it came to matching the services with the amount you pay,it wasn't worth it.The hotel we were provided was stinky and untidy(though when told they cleaned it up).The kettles and cups were not for those people who would prefer hygiene over anything.Only good thing about the hotel was a scenic view and that is why we compromised.Second day ,the package included four places which were not even known to the driver as well as the local people. When contacted the travel agent, they kept on giving promises that we are talking to aur seniors, our agents and to no end we were dropped at the hotel only after visiting 2 places of the package for that day.If you are booking a package please confirm the places which they included as it may only be the icing on the cake.
Surbhi's 4 days trip to UttarakhandI had my trip booked by Krishna Holidays for Haridwar, Musoorie and Rishikesh. Services were good in the hotel except in Mussorie where i had to pay 2000 rs extra for having room heater in the rooms. Also this information was not told to me before so it came as a shock. Toilet was stinking bad, even after changing the rooms the situation was same. Whole night we had to keep exhaust fan running so that the room does not smell bad. Food was however good. No guide was provided for the trip and the driver was very rude and arrogant.. Most of the times he would not talk properly . None of the information about the places he said, he would just park the car and will ask to go and see the place by ourselves. No body was checking through out the trip. If we have some issue then i had to call my travel agent . She was helpful after reporting the issue but it would have been great if she was in constant touch keeping a track if everything is going well. Overall i would say my experience was not that great. the service could have been much better.

Prathmesh's 5 days trip to UttarakhandHotels were great. As I expected. Food was good. Can driver was not aware of the route from Delhi to nainital. I was guiding him throughout the route. And at times he was not even listening to me. That resulted in slight delay. Agent was helpful throughout the trip. Only cons was we were not able to visit the said zones in jungle safari. Instead we were taken to a nature zone. Overall trip was good. Could have more better. Chilled nainital. Yummy food. Horse riding, and many more
