High-altitude roads, or whatever passes for it, offer thrilling experiences to out-of-state travellers. The
state of Uttarakhand is easily accessible by any mode of transport: road, rail, and air. Travellers can book
their choice of transport to plan their Uttarakhand holidays in advance. Looking up on how to reach
Uttarakhand? Here is our detailed information:
Popular places to visit in Uttarakhand include Dehradun, Nainital, Mussoorie, Rishikesh, and Jim Corbett
National Park. The state is also the site of several pilgrimage places which are thronged by thousands of
devotees. Each of these destinations is well-connected with major metro cities in India.
How to reach Uttarakhand by air:
There are two domestic airports in Uttarakhand. The Jolly Grant Airport (DED) in Dehradun is located 22
kilometres from the city centre. It is served by regular nonstop flights from Delhi, Bangalore, Mumbai,
and Chennai. Alliance Air, IndiGo, and Jet Airways provide commercial flights to and from Dehradun.
Pantnagar Airport (PGH) serves as a gateway to hill stations like Nainital, Ranikhet, and Almora. The
distance between Jim Corbett National Park and Pantnagar Airport is about 120 km.
How to reach Uttarakhand by road:
One of the main reasons to visit the hills in Uttarakhand is the joy that comes from the time spent on the
road itself. The state has more than 1,328 km of national highways and 1,543 km of state highways. The
Uttarakhand Transport Corporation runs around 1000 buses in and out of the state.
Haridwar and Rishikesh are connected to Delhi by NH 34 and NH 7 passes through Dehradun with
Badrinath. Highways 109 and 309 interlink Nainital, Almora, and Jim Corbett National Park. The
proposed Char Dham Highway will connect all four major pilgrimage sites in Uttarakhand. Taxi rentals
are available in all major travel destinations in Uttarakhand.
How to reach Uttarakhand by train:
Reaching Nainital or Dehradun by rail is the cheapest and perhaps the most convenient way to visit. The
train station in Kathgodam, 35 km from Nainital, is the last terminus of the North East railways.
Kathgodam train station has rail connectivity with Delhi, Dehradun, and Howrah (Kolkata). Trains to
Dehradun railway station come from Delhi, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, and Punjab. Jan

Trip to UttarakhandSpecial thanks to Neernava Holidays for providing excellent phone support unlike Travel Triangle Agent, Mr Mohd Ameed. Mr Mohd. Ameed stopped responding to our calls and left supporting us in between our trip.
Trip to UttarakhandOverall, we had a good trip. Couple of pointers: 1) There was a lack of communication from the travel agent to the driver..while he was an excellent driver and we had absolutely no issues with him, he had no knowledge of where or which hotel he was supposed to drop us. In addition to the poor network, in Chopta especially, we wasted over 2 hrs trying to find the camps. 2) The basic hygiene in the Chopta camp wasn’t taken care off..the sheets were , I suppose not changed at all and there were insects on the bed. 3) Would have appreciated a communication from your end on the basics of a mountain side trip..for example-one can only travel 20km/hr or the vehicle doesn’t reach the hotel/ camp and one needs to walk/climb up to them.. 4) The driver was really good, patient and very well versed with mountain side driving and we were very happy with his services In all, we had a memorable trip..Thank you
Trip to Uttarakhand1. Driver should be guide cum driver, but our driver many times denied to rome across the route as per litinery, he always commented there is no site seeing or this trip is waste, instead of encouraging he was completely discouraged the trip... 2. As a travel partner you has to know the safari timings, there is no safari since from last 3 months due to heavy rains, Safari arranged is only like a road trip in forest, no animals, no site seeing ..this has to be informed correctly before the planning by agent Remaininng Accomedation, food are excellent, Good support from Travyou Ruchi.. Overall Is below average

Trip to UttarakhandAnurag from journey of miles had well arranged the total trip. The driver was new for the location, but they arranged us separate local guide which made the day fantastic. Though Maya regency was not up to the mark, but nature valley and corbet machaan was really good hotel/resort. They travel was too long, but we enjoyed the beauty.

Trip to UttarakhandThe accommodation provided by the travel agent was superb. Hospitality of wild flower cottage was amazing. Nice cozy place. But the cab driver was not at all good. He just refused to go anywhere and also was bad driver for hills which was clearly visible as he was least confident . He always denied going simple places. He killed e entire holiday mood for us. As a result we spent a lot of our money in local taxis for the places which was mentioned in the Itinerary. Overall the package was nicely designed only if the can driver was good ,our weekend holiday could have been perfect.
Trip to UttarakhandTrip to Kanatal was great. Dheeraj planned every thing in a proper way in a short span of time(1day). Our driver "Goldy Bhaiya" was very friendly with us. He guided us in a proper way. Will never forget the Momos that he insisted us to taste in Dehradun. Midnight view from Full Moon cottage in Kanatal was mesmerizing. The night spent in Fool Moon Cottage with a Bonfire will be a lifetime memory. Caretaker of cottage named Bhagwan , was very helpful and friendly. And the food made by him had a great taste. Must visit Kanatal.
