If you’re wondering how to reach Andaman from Kolkata, sea and air travel are the two options. While

flights between Kolkata and Port Blair take only about two hours, cruise ships can take as many as three

days to get there. Each mode of travel has its own merits and budget, here are your options:

By Air: Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport (CCU) in Kolkata remains one of the major

hubs of flights coming from and leaving to the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Air India, GoAir, SpiceJet,

IndiGo, and Vistara provide nonstop flights between Kolkata and Port Blair Airport.

By Rail: There is no rail connectivity between the mainland of India and the islands of Andaman and

Nicobar.

By Road: You can throw the idea of a road trip to Andaman out of the window. Board a cruise ship from

Kolkata to Port Blair and laze away your two days on the deck. It will provide an ideal start to your

getaway to the islands of Andaman and Nicobar.

 

By Sea: For those wondering how to reach Andaman by ship can board a vessel from Kolkata Port. Kolkata to Andaman ship has a variety of options to stay onboard from deluxe cabins for families to bunk beds or dormitories for budget travelers. Kolkata to Andaman ship journey time is approximately 60 hours but it may take longer to reach Port Blair depending upon the weather conditions. Kolkata to Port Blair by ship distance is roughly 1255 kilometers. A ticket for the ship to Andaman can be booked at the office of Shipping Corporation of India at Strand Road. A cruise to Andaman is not recommended to those who are not used to long sea journeys or prone to seasickness.

    Agent was very kind and cooperative till the service was booked. Her phone's network issue increased as soon as the full payment was made. However she was coordinating well through whatsapp messages. All the cab drivers were well behaved. No issues at all on that side. Cruise rides were fantasti
    c. No complaints to make. We have really enjoyed the trip. Everything on this trip was perfect except for the hygiene maintained on the "Blue Waves Beach Resort" on Havelock Island. Though the resort has a private beach but it does not have good cleanliness. The bedsheets were not clean, lot of mosquitos, food services was very bad. Other than poori/paratha & veg curry there was nothing available. Toilets were full of lizards and cockroaches. TV's were not working. Other hotels were really amazing. Services were fantastic.
