And thus it organizes some interesting concerts, exhibitions, theatre performances, movie projects about architecture and literature.
History of Bozar
The Centre for Fine Arts, Brussels, or Palais des Beaux-Arts as the French would say, this celebrated classical music space is also home to National Orchestra and the Philharmonic society. The 1928 art-deco building is considered to exude a bold charm rather than being enticing, and is better known as one of the top five buildings with the best acoustic quality in the world.
Bozar Architecture
A masterpiece designed by Victor Horta, architecture of Bozar is something to marvel at. This building is said to have come up against many odds. The Belgium Parliament, denied funding to the plans post World War I. Many years later, this project was revived under several restrictions. The city gave a very irregular area which had different height and was on a slope. Also the overall height of the building was restricted so as to ensure that the King’s views from the Royal Palace over the Brussels skyline was unobstructed. However, after more than a decade this amazing building was completed and today it houses a recital room, one of the largest concert halls, lecture rooms, a chamber music room, and a vast gallery for temporary exhibitions.
