Rated 3.50/5 ( based on 10 reviews )
Travel to Belgium
The shortest India to Belgium distance is 7,167 km; but this is a straight line that joins the two countries over the Black Sea. However, it cannot be the best answer for how to go to Belgium. For, this is not the route one can take to travel from India to Belgium. Flights are by far the best way to travel to Belgium from any India city. There certainly is land and sea connectivity, but those routes are not possible to take.
In order to figure out how to reach Belgium from India, one should opt for airways, as it is the best way to reach there. Brussels International Airport is the nearest airport where most flights to Belgium from India land. Antwerp and Bruges have international airports as well, but they are not as popular or frequented as Brussels. Multiple European carriers like Lufthansa, Swiss Air, KLM, Turkish Airlines, British Airways and the country’s liner, Brussels Airlines fly frequent flights to and from Indian airports, mostly Delhi and Mumbai. Major Indian cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad and Bangalore have regular flights to Belgium.
Besides that, one can also travel in and around Belgium while buying the One Country Pass or the Global Pass that are valid for 3 days or 5 days respectively. The first pass lets people travel in and around Belgium, while the latter one allows tourists to travel up to 29 countries of Europe. For a fascinating experience, you can also get on a ferry, and sail through the mesmerizing landscapes for about 2 hours to reach your destination.
By Air
Mumbai is the only city with direct flights to Belgium. There are 5 flights every week to Brussels City Airport. These flights are operated by Brussels Airlines every day of the week except Sunday and Wednesday. This is also the fastest flight covering the distance with a minimum India to Belgium flight duration, i.e. only 9 hours 50 minutes. There are other connecting flights via cities like Amsterdam, Munich, Zurich, London or Dubai flown by the respective airlines. The best flights from Delhi are by Lufthansa via Munich which takes 10 hours 45 minutes, by KLM via Amsterdam which takes 10 hours 55 minutes and by Swiss Air via Zurich which takes 11 hours 10 minutes. Delhi or other cities do not provide nonstop flights to Belgium, but the stopover flights are just a good option.
