Rated 3.50/5 ( based on 10 reviews )
London Dungeon Tour (England)
The London Dungeon is a major tourist attraction in the city, and is one of the most famous places to visit here. Located along London’s South Bank, it recreates some of the most macabre and gory scenes of horror and torture, in a subtly humorous way. There are wax statues and figurines here, apart from a few live actors and even a few rides that range from absolutely scary to simply funny. The special effects here are sure to blow that mind of any traveler, making people believe in the darkly humorous side of England. There are 18 shows at the London Dungeon, apart from 3 rides and more than a dozen actors who help in recreating nearly 1000 years of the history of London.
Attractions of London Dungeon
The Descent: This is one is basically a historical tour wherein one will get to know about the 1000 years old history the London Dungeon.
The Tyrant Boat Ride: Tyrant Boat Ride is the water ride which will take one through intense darkness, rats scurry, choppy waters, and everything spooky and scary. This ride will tell one about the wrath and force of Henry VIII. Pregnant women and guest with broken limbs or back pain are not allowed to go for this ride.
The City Gates: This is another spooky excursion wherein one will be told how to prepare ahead for a spike in an interactive session. This tour is less scary than the Tyrant Boat Ride.
The Torture Chamber: This chamber will let one know how punishments looked like in the 1600s. The chamber is scary and will give one goosebump.
The Tavern: Here one will have to play a part of the punter in a dodgy and vibrant pub. One can even sip a beer here and munch some bar snacks. In the end, one will get to know if ghosts really exist or not and the total number of people who died in the London Beer Flood of 1814.
Originally, the London Dungeon was only an exhibition of crudely made wax exhibits. However, the place has now evolved to become an interactive horror attraction. One can find scenes enacted and rides to depict some of London’s most infamous characters, such as Jack The Ripper and Sweeney Todd, the killer barber. Even guests are sometimes encouraged to be part of the shows, hence this interactive attraction is a major crowd puller. It has been expanded and refurbished several times since its inception, and now also includes boat tour. Make sure to spend enough time here to explore the place fully.
