Piccadilly Circus is actually a street juncture and an open space for public use of London's west periphery in the famous city of Westminster. It was opened in 1819 to join Piccadilly with Regent-street. Piccadilly now connects Shaftesbury Avenue and Coventry Streets as well as the Haymarket. It is surrounded by many important shopping and entertainment outlets in the west. The juncture is famous for its neon signs and video broadcasting mounted on a corner building on the Northern side of the circle along with the Shaftesbury memorial fountain and statue.

The corner-most building on the northern side of the road is laden with large display boards to advertise various products along with the neon illuminated lights. Many famous companies have displayed their advertisements in this place. Companies including Coca-cola, Hyundai Motors, Samsung, McDonald's, Vodafone, Kodak, Burberry and others advertise here.

London is well acquainted with the phrase "it's like Piccadilly Circus" that is usually used to refer to a place that is filled with people all the time. It would be right to say that Piccadilly Circus had tempted and inspired in a way many artists and musicians.
