The birthplace of Lord Krishna, Dwarka is known for its ancient temples, all of which have a historic significance. You can discover a holy spot situated hardly 2 km away from the city center of Dwaraka, named Rukmini Devi temple. The temple is dedicated to Lord Krishna’s fondest queen namely Rukmini Devi. The temple houses the image of goddess Rukmini Devi on the main sanctum. The temple was believed to be built during the 12th Century AD. Carved sculptures of Naradharas (Human figurines) along with Gajatharas (Elephants) touch the base of the tower.

 

Visiting the holy city of Dwarka can be quite a unique experience and it is important you know how to reach Dwarka from Delhi using various modes of transport.

 

Delhi to Dwarka by Air: The Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL) is the airport that serves the city of Delhi. Delhi to Dwarka flight fare during normal days is about 5000 to 8000 rupees. There may be a hike in flight fares during holidays or festivals like Janmashtami. The nearest airport to Dwarka is Jamnagar Airport (JGA). The duration of Delhi to Jamnagar flight is about 4 hours and 15 minutes. Flights are provided by Goair, Air India, and Indigo and you can make your booking based on the travel duration. Booking a flight is the quickest way to complete your Delhi to Dwarka tour package.

 

Delhi to Dwarka by Train: If you want to know how to reach Dwarka temple from Delhi by train, you need to know that there are two trains that operate between Delhi and Dwarka railway station. It is the nearest railway station from Dwarkadhish Temple, at 3.1 km away. The approximate travel time from Delhi to Dwarka by train is 25 hours and 26 minutes. You can take the Uttaranchal Express or the Haridwar - Okha Uttaranchal Link Express to travel from Delhi to Dwarka. There are also direct trains available from Delhi to Somnath.

 

 

Delhi to Dwarka by Road: The distance between Delhi and Dwarka is about 1362 km and not many prefer to travel this distance via a cab. There are no direct buses too from Delhi to Dwarka. The easiest way is to take a flight from Delhi to Ahmedabad and then take a train to travel from Ahmedabad to Dwarka.

Journey was too long to cover within 9 days, thankfully roads are made nicely to make it happen. Hotels are not properly co-ordinated and arranged. If one hotel says booking only for three and need room upgrade with extra pay and few other having room hygiene issues and changed later.
