Places to Visit in Dwarka

Located along the right bank of river Gomti is the remarkably scenic Dwarka.

Historically known as the city of Shri Krishna, and the Atlantis of the East, most places to visit in Dwarka are temples and other religious structures.

Among the most stunning places to visit in Dwarka is Dwarkadhish Temple.Legend has it that Dwarkadhish Temple, originally known as Hari Ghar, was the private palace of Lord Krishna. There are many mythological attributes to the temple itself and among all tourist places in Dwarka, this is considered among the holiest of all Krishna temples in India.

Of all the Shavait Temples in Dwarka, Nageshwar Jyotirlinga Temple is perhaps the most prominent among tourist places in Dwarka. With the Shani Dev Temple close by, and this being the largest Jyotirlinga Temple around, this is one of the top places to visit in Dwarka. Abhishekh (pious offerings) can be offered right from the Garbh Graha (sanctum sanctorum) by all pilgrims as well. Legend says that Lord Krishna himself worshipped Lord Shiva in this very temple.

The temple dedicated to Lord Krishna at Beyt Dwarka or Island Dwarka is among highly frequented tourist places in Dwarka. According to legend, the main city of Dwarka was submerged under the ocean floor following the death of Lord Krishna and is now known as Gupt Dwarka. Tourist buses are available to Beyt Dwarka which also cover Rukmini Temple, Gopi Talaab, and several Jyotirlinga Shiva Temples on the way. The Vishnu temple on Beyt is among top places to see in Dwarka.

The city holds countless places of worship which partly make up the best places to visit in Dwarka. Some other places of interest in Dwarka include Bet Dwarka, which is another island temple, Somnath Temple, ISKCON Temple, Rukshamanee Mandir, Gomti Ghat, Gopi Talab, Sudama Setu, Shri SwaminarayanMandir, and Siddheshwar Mahadev Temple. These are among top Dwarka sightseeing places. With their stunning architecture, religious sculptures, and rich heritage, it is easy to gather why visiting places in Dwarka evoke such devotion.

Of course, many travelers across the globe go to Dwarka simply for the beauty of the architecture and the colorful city. Visiting places in Dwarka is now no longer simply based on Hinduism or devotion, but a sense of transcendence that connects different people.

Abhishekdudwadkar's 5 days trip to Dwarka

Had a good experience for sightseeing areas of Gujarat and found it extra convenient and comfortable in Kia Carens. Driver was also good.. And special thanks to Payal madam for helping out in making itineraries. Hotels and their service were good except Shlok In where food service was not satisfactory otherwise it was nice. Just few suggestions it would be good if we can get an ordered list of places as per route with their timings. Because many places had their timings. Also, one will get an idea where to reach on which time and how much time to spend on particular spot.
