Is There an Entry Fee for Solang Valley?

No. Entry to the valley is free, and it is the same for everyone: there is no separate ticket for Indians and no higher rate for foreign nationals. What you spend is entirely down to the activities. Every ride, glide and ski session is charged on the spot by the operator running it, and prices move with the season, the weather and demand. Winter (skiing, snow scooters, snow tubing) and the summer flying and ropeway season have different rate cards.

One practical point that catches people out: most operators take cash only, and ATMs near the valley base are scarce. Carry enough cash for the day, or book your ropeway and paragliding as part of a Manali package so the price is locked before you arrive.

Ropeway (Gondola) Ticket Price: One-Way vs Round-Trip

The Solang gondola is the one ride almost everyone does, and it is the cheapest way to get a proper mountain view without any skill or fitness. You buy a one-way or a round-trip ticket. A round trip is better value unless you plan to walk one leg. Buying it inside a booked package usually works out cheaper than the walk-up counter rate on a busy weekend.

Paragliding, Skiing & Snow Sports Costs (Winter vs Summer)

Solang runs two seasons, and they cost differently. From roughly December to February the slopes are under snow and it is a skiing, snowboarding and snow-sports centre. The rest of the year the same meadows are the launch site for paragliding, plus zorbing, ATV rides and the ropeway.

Winter (snow sports, December to February)

• Skiing costs Rs 800-1,500 per session with gear and a basic instructor. Multi-day beginner courses cost more and are booked through ski schools.

• Snowboarding runs Rs 1,000-1,500, snow scooters Rs 500-1,000, and snow tubing Rs 200-400 per ride.

• Snow can arrive from late December and lingers into early March. Confirm slope conditions before you commit to a ski session.

Summer (flying and rides, March to October)

• Paragliding is the headline activity: a low fly costs Rs 1,300-1,800 and a high fly from the top launch Rs 2,500-4,000 per person, including a pilot and a GoPro clip with most operators.
