Shopping Markets In Rome (Italy)

Rome is known for its beautiful architecture and history; it is visited by millions of tourists coming from everywhere in the world. Apart from the several monuments, Rome is also famous for its colourful food markets, vintage markets, and flea markets. No travel trip to Rome is complete without visiting markets in Rome. Always go to any of these markets with a local so that you get things for a good price.

Portici Market

If you love collecting vintage goods, head over to Portici market. It is open from 7 am to 7 pm on the first and third Sundays of every month. You will have to do a little research around but this place sells one of the best second-hand jewelry and clothes. You will also find silk scarves, lace, and crystals here. Portici Market is no less than a dream for fashion lovers.

Campo de Fiori Market

Campo de Fiori is one of Rome’s oldest grocery markets, existing for more than 400 years. Even if you do not want to buy any fruits or vegetables, going there early in the morning and rubbing shoulders with locals is a refreshing experience. Campo de Fiori is open daily throughout the day. Once you are there, you will definitely be tempted to buy truffles, Italian sausages, and cheese.

Fontanella Borghese Market

Fontanella Borghese Market is another market where you will find great vintage buys. You will find vintage maps, globes, iconic old newspapers and magazines, and unique presents to take home. The market is open from 9 am to 7 pm. Some retailers will also happily tell you the story behind your purchased item.

Porta Portese Market

At Porta Portese Market, you will literally find anything under the sun. One of the best finds there are vintage photo frames, clothing, and vinyl, but you will have to do a little bit of bargaining. You will also find a lot of furniture there and if you can take it back home, definitely buy some. It is open only on Sundays. Go there early in the morning because you will have a lot of searching to do.

Mercato Monti Market

Mercato Monti is a great place to find works of young Italian designers and original second-hand items from famous designer. Everything sold here is expensive, but some bargaining will help. It is also a paradise for vintage item collectors. Mercato Monti is open all days of the week.

    • Trip to Italy

Listing the cons here first. On one of the days we were to reach the hotel at 8am after an early morning flight. When we reached, we were told that we had to wait till 2pm since the check in time is from 2pm and they wouldn't be able to provide us a room till that time. So we had to roam nearby for 6 hours just to pass the time. In one of the sightseeing trips (to Cinque Terre, which comprises of 5 islands) we were given the tickets of the tour for the same. But when we started the tour we came to know that our ticket was only for the round trip bus tickets. From the drop point we had to take take trains/boats on our own to explore all the islands. Overall, we travelled to 5 cities in the entire trip and the experience was good as planned, except a couple of the hotels booked were not upto the mark, and the rooms were very small, almost the size of the bed with no space to open our luggage. Except for these, every other thing was planned nicely and we had a great time during our trip!

We loved our time in Italy, very well organized by Duniya Safari. The good - great booking for day trips and guided tours, Special mention to Ishita as she was always on her toes to help us in all our queries,.during the stay the hotel in Paris was very small, room size was like just the size of the bed but one thing best about the hotel was its location as it was walkable from the centre of Paris. Thanks to the team assisting us at Duniya Safariand Travel Triangle.

We had booked my honeymoon trip to France and Italy through Hub Holidays. Despite being a package tour, we had the complete independence to chose my itinerary. The hotels provided were just awesome, especially the ones is Venice and Rome. Our hotel location in Nice and Paris was also awesome. The hotel staff in Rome was so courteous that they upgraded us for a complete apartment with full amenities. To my amazement, it also had a terrace with it. Speaking about Hub Holidays, I have never had a better travel agency doing job for me. They were quick and generous while responding to any queries or problems. Keep up the good work guys. Also, I dropped my passport in Disneyland Paris and Hub Holidays helped me in getting it back and made me feel relaxed even though I thought I have lost it. Yeeshu and Prashant were too good.

I went to France, Switzerland and Italy. I got a very competitive pricing from Hubholiday. They provided very nice pre, post and on trip support. Thanks Yeeshu and Prashant for your efforts to make my trip memorable. They even provided support for information not part of package such as best option to buy sim. I really liked hop in hop off bus in France and Italy, it was a great way to visit major tourist places in less time in a cost effective manner. Swiss pass in Switzerland was also great I could travel anywhere in Switzerland via it. Tip for first time travelers - make sure you know all information in detail, less vegetarian options are there specially in Switzerland so you can buy fruits, chips, etc from there or bring from India, be well before time on famous monuments, make sure to take care of your stuff to avoid any issues on the trip.

Memorable Holidays left no stone unturned to make our holiday memorable for life. From the right advice while drafting the itinerary to last minute bookings since our visas were delayed, the support was very good. Krishna recommended the right tours and the hotels selected had excellent location. Had a lot of fun. Italy was wonderful and we felt that it deserves a vacation on its own with a minimum of 3 days in Rome and a visit to the Amalfi Coast
