About Sankey Tank in Bangalore

Built in the year 1882 by Col. Richard Hieram Sankey of the Madras Sappers Regiment, Sankey Tank Bangalore is one of the best places in the city to spend some time amidst the serenity of nature. It is a perfect place for nature lovers, and people who wish to spend time with their loved ones. Not just a sprawling lake, the Sankey Tank is also home to a number of recreational parks which boast of a variety of flora & fauna that adorn the beauty of this place. These parks also boast of a Sankey Tank swimming pool along with a Forest Department nursery
The Sankey Tank park and lake offer a plethora of activities to the visitors. One can indulge in the activity of boating which is managed by Karnataka State Tourism Development Corporation. Different types of boats such as row boats, pedal boats, and motor boats are available for visitors to enjoy a ride over the azure waters of the lake. Sankey Tank boating club is open throughout the week except for Fridays.
