How to Reach Ski Resort in Gulmarg

Once in land in the Srinagar airport, you can just walk out and get yourself a prepaid taxi to get directly transported to the Gulmarg ski resorts. It is 45 kms away from the airport and the car ride takes about one and a half hours to three hours (depending on weather and road conditions). The last 12 kms of the entire journey takes most of the time. This half of the road is through mountains and ends at the Gulmarg ski resorts.

It will always be wiser to incorporate the airport pick up with your resort booking in advance. It is not only cheaper this way but also hassle free since your chauffer will be waiting for you at the airport arrival with a welcome board in hand. When booked in advance, the hotel includes this conveyance in your stay package into a negotiable price. The hotel cars always have tire chains to ride through snowy road, so there is no need to change cars in between, unlike the airport taxis.

During winter season, due to bad road conditions, you might need to change vehicles at Tangmarg id you have hired a prepaid taxi from the airport. Tangmarg is the town situated just below Gulmarg. Since the airport taxis are not equipped with 4-wheel drive on snow laden roads, you need to switch cars to more dependable ones. The road from Tangmarg twists and turns to climb to spectacular heights of around 1800 to 2660 meters.

If you are looking for a cheaper alternative, you can try getting to Gulmarg with the help of the shared taxis. This would be the cheapest way of conveyance. However, the journey can get extremely long and tiresome. Shared taxis tend to have frequent stops and drop the co-passengers whenever they want to get down. Also, they try to accommodate as many passengers as possible. So, the drive can get a little too uncomfortable, what with the windy and nauseous roads.

Cheap or expensive, whichever means you choose to reach up top, the ski resorts, Gulmarg will welcome your arrival at any time of the year.

We had a disappointing experience during our trip to Kashmir in the first week of April. Though the agent helped us create an itinerary, they couldn't justify the price. However, the driver was well-mannered. We stayed for one night in Pahalgam, two nights in a hotel in Srinagar, and one night in a

houseboat in Srinagar. The hotel stays were good, except for the houseboat. The food at the hotel was good, but at the houseboat, it was not up to the mark and was not sufficient. Moreover, the cost of the hotel and houseboat stay was very high. If you're planning to visit Kashmir, it's advisable to research activities and prices in advance. Locals may try to overcharge, so it's best to be aware of prices beforehand. You can skip Pahalgam if you're planning to visit Gulmarg and book a gondola ride in advance online. There isn't much to see in Pahalgam, so it's better to stay in Srinagar and explore local places and try their authentic cuisine. Wherever you go from Srinagar, you'll find snow. Therefore, choose your places wisely, as you'll see the same thing everywhere. It's essential to be careful since hotels are expensive, and locals may try to indulge you in different activities at high prices which aren't worth it. Although Breezy Travels helped us plan the trip better, I find Kashmir overrated compared to Himachal and Uttarakhand.

r the stay in pahalgham we didn't have a confirmed booking as per the itenary due to some miscommunication between emaar and Hotel sales dept. we had to wait in the lobby with a toddler sleeping in my lap for 2 hrs. Miss Ifrah however tried her best to resolve the issue but it was really out of her hands. our tour driver Adil was very good and polite. but was constantly pre-occupied. Coming to travel triangle there is a lot more to improve . I think you should followup about the itenary and hotel insights more rather than just acting as payment gateway portal. Nikita Jaiswal our tour guide from TT was good but didn't have enough knowledge about the process. they must be trained properly before handling a client. overall experience was decent could have been much better.
