Along with the exquisite snow-clad mountains, and natural surroundings, Kashmir is also a place filled with thrill and adventure. There are many adventure sports available to try from, but the popular and the most preferred adventure sport available for tourists here is Paragliding. The best time for Paragliding in Kashmir is between the months of May and June or between September and October. The excellent wind conditions and perfect landscape makes Kashmir an ideal place to enjoy this aero sport. Tourists can enjoy the glide in a parachute alone or with a pilot.

There are many magnificent paragliding spots in Kashmir. Here is how to reach paragliding spots in Kashmir:

Sonamarg: The distance between Srinagar and Sonamarg is almost 80 km and travelers can easily book a car or taxi to reach Sonamarg via road from their hotels. Tourists can also take local buses from Srinagar to Sonamarg.

Gulmarg: The distance between Srinagar and Gulmarg is around 60 km and the place is easily accessible via motorable roads. So tourists can easily reach a place by booking a cab or taxi or by using buses available from Jammu and Kashmir to Gulmarg.

Ashtanmarg: Ashtanmarg is another interesting Paragliding spot in Kashmir. Located at a distance of 15km from Srinagar, travelers can reach Ashtanmarg by hiring a cab or taxi from their hotel. But to reach the climbing spot, they need to cover a distance of 1.5km by foot.

Pahalgam: Located at an altitude of 2,130 meters, Pahalgam is an ideal place for all Paragliding lovers. To reach Pahalgam, travelers can book a cab or taxi to reach the spot as the place is well connected via road.

Srinagar: Tourists can also enjoy Paragliding in Srinagar at the lofty height of Pari Mahal. They can book a taxi or car or can use public transport to reach the Paragliding spot from their hotels. It is also an ideal spot to enjoy the enticing beauty of the Mughal Gardens from the above.

Hotel: Requested for 3-star hotel but the hotels provided doesn’t have any facility even power was not available. Also have hygiene issues. Places: It was raining, so many places are skipped due to time constraint. Didn't helped for Kondala ride tickets would have been helpful if it was arranged. Fo

od : Good, arranged properly and had few options. Cab: Driver was helpful in arranging local transport in Pagalgam and Gulmarg. Coordination: Travel agent was very responsive before payment and the tone and response changed after payment started saying no can’t be done even for small things. Overall booking experience was awesome, but travel experience was very bad. Thanks! Excellent climate !!

1) Agent was polite and continuosly followed up for the same which I liked. 2) One hotel booked was good while the second one (Star of Kashmir) was totally a a disaster. Food was pathetic in the later one. 3) Driver was very good and interactive. He kept us telling about the prime locations. He has

a very good driving experience. We enjoyed the journey with him. One issue we find was that wherever we were stopped by the driver at the locations for further rides, like Pony or union cabs, those prices were way too higher as compared to the normal ones even after bargaining when we discussed with the other visitors. That is a place of disappointment as we spent more than Rs. 25k in such things which I guess is way beyond the limit. So, as a tourist I expect to be dropped at a point where nominal rated are given since tourists don't have any idea about the prices. They are trapped most of the times. Kashmir itself tops my bucket list of travelling since my childhood. I always had a curiosity of visiting the valley and interacting with the locals. So, that dream of mine came true. As per my expectation, it was beautiful. People were warm. They were good at serving the tourists. I found the Sonmarg 'The Best'. Its picturesque landscapes with the snowcapped trees made be spellbound. I couldn't find the Baisaran valley as per the expectation. I guess it wasn't the right time to visit there. But the lower meadows and valley of the Pahalgam was just beyond the words. It was so so beautiful I can't even spell. I wish to visit Kashmir again very soon.
