About Kerela it was really God's own country, the views, beaches and the ambiance was mond blowing. A must have location to go. Poovar island resort including the poovar forest backwater ride on the boat and stay at munnar dream catcher resort (in the honeymoon cottage).

Extremely well planned trip to Kerala (Kanyakumari, Thiruvanantapuram and Kovalam). The moment I put my request on TT, I got a itinerary from Triptello, we made multiple changes since I was taking my parents along and wanted a comfortable trip . Himashu was helping us for all the changes very efficiently and enthusiastically. From the time the driver picked up from the TVM Airport to back , it was a fabulous journey. Hotels - Extremely well chosen hotels, Best view, Service and location Driver - Extremely courteous and professional We had a lifetime Kerala trip, my parents are extremely happy and delighted. Thank you folks, Appreciate

Devdatt's 6 days trip to Kumarakom

Overall experience was amazing, had a wonderful experience on each day of trip. The journey, sights, places, the people we met all were memorable. Cab driver+tour guide+photographer was very good and made our journey interesting. All the hotels were good, except the one day houseboat stay. Houseboat stay was the worse night spend in entire trip, just because of the condition of boat. Staff and food was good but the boat was looking like 100 years old, not maintained properly, AC and Fan weren't working, and the mosquitos made the night little longer. Munnar sight seeing, adventure games at Wonder Vally, Jeep Safari, Katthakali dance show, Oxygen resort stay, tea gardens, Alleppy and Cherai beaches

    FAQ's of Kumarakom

Read on to find out why our customers love us!

Kumarakom condenses the essence of a holiday in Kerala. Home to Kerala's biggest backwater, Vembanad lake, spending time on a houseboat is a must. The Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary is also an important spot for tourists along with Aruvikkuzhi Waterfall. The Maya Spa is well reputed for it's Ayurvedic massages and the traditional art forms of Kathakali and Kalaripayattu can be found and enjoyed here as well.

Kumarakom is a rich hub for boating and as such, there are many different kinds of boats here. Especially impressive are the snake boats, which are boats that are also used in boat races. In the months of August and September, there are various boat races which are unique to Kumarakom and an exciting spectacle to behold.

Kumarakom is home to the Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary which is an excellent location for photographers that are interested in birding. A large number of rare, migratory birds can be found here. Kumarakom beach is also an excellent place for photography and the Aruvikkuzhi waterfalls deserve a mention as well.

Kumarakom was involved in many of the fights for supremacy between the local kings in Kerala. There are still remains of a fort wall in Kumarakom. The Taj hotel building also has a piece of history attached to it. The bungalow was built by a British man called Alfred. G. Baker whose family lived there for the next 4 generations and influenced a lot of the things that happened in the area. It was a ruin after they left until the Taj Group took over and converted it into the luxury resort it is now.

Two of the major catches for the fishermen in Kumarakom are the Karimeen, also known as the Pearl Spot and shrimp. Many of the local delicacies are based around the two with one of the most popular dishes being the Karimeen Pollichathu, which is grilled Karimeen wrapped in a banana leaf after being prepared with rich spices.
